Xiaomi continue their drive in to peoples daily lives with a new connected smart scale to monitor your weight via connected apps.
This time around it isn’t Xiaomi who were first but Meizu. Cast your mind back to the M1 launch in China earlier this year and you will remember that in China Meizu have teamed with with Haier to launch smart home products including a connected scale.
Xiaomi too are interested in helping people monitor their weight and have launched a competing smart scale today. The white bathroom scales run on 4AA batteries and looks every bit as stylish as the Haier made competitor. What the Xiaomi scale do have going for them though is that they will connect to your existing Xiaomi Home application and sync data from your Mi Band to help you track and monitor your exercise and weight loss.
Pricing hasn’t been revealed but a cost of around 199 Yuan or less seems likely.

Smart Scale? Really?
I just got my scale yesterday (from iBuyGou) and the set-up was super quick: wear the band, stand on scale, open app, swipe to the scale section. The app asks if you want to connect the scale, hit yes, done. Under two minutes!
The versatility and simplicity of the miBand is impressive: after a month I still have 20% battery charge left on it. My favorite features:
1 – by far – It unlocks my phone automatically when I am close, without time delay like a fingerprint scanner.
2 – buzzes if I don’t answer my phone within a couple of seconds (great in loud places)
3 – Tracks sleep vs deep sleep
4 – fitness stuff: pedometer and link to scale
