At Xiaomi’s press conference in Beijing earlier, CEO Lei Jun announced several new products in its smart home lineup, including a plug extension called the Mi Power Strip.
The Mi Power Strip is similar in size to a pencil case. It has three power sockets and three surge-protected USB ports with 2.1A quick charging. The housing is made from fire-resistant materials, capable of withstanding 750 degrees of heat.Terminals within the power strip are made of phosphor bronze, built on a copper bar connectivity system.
Besides that, it also has a maximum overload protection of 10A. At the bottom, the Mi Power Strip has anti-slip rubber paddings, while on the top a subtle light indicator can be found on the switch.
The Mi Power Strip will be sold for a mere 49 Yuan, and is likely to only be available in China for now.
So they finally released something worth buying in 2015,
I would love to see a version without the wall outlets and five 2.1A USB ports, or a 3 USB ports only option for a cheaper price.
I guess the reseller price would be about $18-20 if the price is in fact 49 yuan as the image say.
wow ,xiaomi is so strong .it is said that this power strip has four important functions .http://flosmall.com/blog/321-four-important-functions-about-xiaomi-s-new-product-xiaomi-power-strip
Well if this one is around $15 I’m definitely getting one. Not sure it can handle EU style plugs ( looks like it can though ) but I have enough Chinese devices anyway so that’s not a problem.
Well $15 is not cheap but it’s reasonable and it’s a damn nice thing to have. Plus you have the Xiaomi brand which I trust more than other Chinese brands.
