Lenovo had it’s camera centric Lenovo Vibe Shot on display at MWC, now a new model with the same appearance but lower specifications has been spotted in China.
The Vibe Shot is Lenovo’s first ever attempt at a camera centric phone. The international version that we saw at MWC had a Snapdragon 615 chipset, and FHD display, but a new model for the Chinese market has emerged with the same camera hardware but slightly lower specs elsewhere.
The Lenovo Z90-7, as it is known on TENAA, has the same 3 x LED rear flash and 16 mega-pixel main camera, 3GB RAM and 8 mega-pixel front sensor as the international model, but runs a lower resolution 720p display and Mediatek MT6753 chipset.
Gizchina News of the week
For those of you not up on the latest Mediatek hardware, the MT6753 is a variant on the MT6752 based on an octacore platform but with global 4G support, meaning that this version of the phone supports GSM, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA,TD-LTE and FDD-LTE.
Other features include dual sim support, Android 5.0 and a 2900mAh battery all packed in to a 7.8mm body.
Just in case I’m missing something here, is the Snapdragon 615 better than the MT6753? How is this phone lower specced than the former Vibe Shot with SD 615?
The Snapdragon 615 is less powerful than the MT6752, but it is not known how that relates to the MT6753 yet. This SoC doesn’t only come with World Mode LTE, but also comes with a lower CPU clock (1.5GHz) and a less powerful GPU (Mali T720).
Do they release Lenovo phones in Pak? I am from the other side of our volatile border bro.
ahhh.. “volatile border” , it pains me to hear that and sadly THAT is the truth. Y’kno im a student without a conveyance. Bike’s too dangerous on these roads filled with hooligan drivers AND i can’t afford a car. That was , UNLESS , we could import Tata Nano from you guys 🙂 … sadly that got muddled up in diplomatic struggles and bureacracy instead.
Digressing from my pain-filled paraphrasing , yes they do indeed have OFFICIAL reseller/distributor of Lenovo here BUT as is the MOST common case , they release phones at a dipshit pace compared to how they do in china. Im dying to get my hands on Lenovo k3 NOTE … for it fullfills all my criteria AND feels good on the pocket too..
P.S i’d LOVE to have Gionee come here someday… Qmobile are absolutely SHAT and i’d reject a billion Q’s for a single gionee smartphone…
Calls for a business opportunity. Culturally … (at least before the volatile borders came in), the people here have the mind set of getting most of the little investment they make. The mind set is “save first, spend later”. Plus the regulations aren’t harsh as in other regions where selling a faulty device means if you don’t fix it, your license will be cancelled. Maybe we should, when you have job and can afford travel, meet in SZ, make business plans – import, support system and do something disruptive. China is friends with Pak and wants to be friends with India as well in the economic corridor. What say?
BTW most phone that are coming to India from China, generally, seem to be left overs, Just like the Apple dumped all the unsold 4s in India for the price of an air ticket to China.
For the K3 note … if they are selling it in India for an affordable price (that suits your pocket), you can book it on my name and I can post it from here to your address. We have DHL here too. There must be a postage payment on delivery option I am sure. And that is if you can trust a stranger. 😀
” make business plans – import, support system and do something disruptive”
YES , exactly! thats what we need ! sadly , tho im more of a science geek (engineering) than a businessman. If the we three (china , India , pakistan) collaborate among ourselves, i doubt we’ll need any further external help at all !

I’d love to do that but alas i lack the business acumen and tact most critically prerequisite in such an undertaking ! although, i think this should be the subcontinential mindset. instead of childishly bickering among ourselves , we should work together. Once im in the professional side , i’ll definitely point my business-minded friends in this direction.

i would’ve trusted a strange but currency fluctuations mean im no better off buying it from either side :p . It’s pretty much gonna cost me the same and even worse , the pak customs will possibly suspect me of being an agent if i PERSONALLY receive an electronics device from India :’D .
I like your thinking tho , Mr.King. We have a few other Pakistanis lurking here and i believe they’re way more sound in these business dealings than i am. If i bump into em , i’ll point them towards a certain “king”. A three way co-operation would be epic and would have the big 3 given a run for their money if it EVER materializes 🙂 .
Cheers friend ^_^ !
P.S i’d also LOVE to see that Tata Nano here … i would LOVE to own an automatic version and moreover , it would be priceless to see the panic and chaos ensue among suzuki-toyota monopoly here once it arrives!
