Xiaomi have slashed the retail price of both versions of the Xiaomi MiPad in China, raising questions “is a new model soon to launch?”.
The Xiaomi MiPad has been on the market since last summer when the 7.9-inch Retina device blew the mobile world away with it’s mix of iPad mini design, Tegra K1 processor and low price.
Xiaomi’s tablet has now received a price cut in China with the 16GB version of the tab now costing just 1299 yuan and the 64GB model now costing only 1499 Yuan.
The price cut has raised questions about the launch of a possible Xiaomi MiPad 2. Sources in China have speculated that the next-gen MiPad will feature a Snapdragon CPU and built in LTE and could launch later this month.
Mi Pad 2 could be equipped with Intel processor (rumors)
