Huawei have launched another low-cost phone on Amazon for international buyers to pick up direct, but with a little shopping you can find better at a lower price.
At $180 the Huawei SnapTo is a budget phone, and easily undercuts the majority of Android handsets available in store in Europe and the U.S, but as fans of all Chinese tech we know that the SnapTo isn’t as great a deal as it could have been.
Huawei have have chosen some solid components for the SnapTo from the 5-inch HD display and quad-core 2.0Ghz Snapdragon 400 CPU, and LTE, but there are some serious cost cutting items too such as the 5 mega-pixel main camera, and just 1GB RAM!
Gizchina News of the week
If we compare the Huawei SnapTo to the Elephone P6000 for example the cost is well overblown. The P6000’s official RRP is $160, it ships with LTE and a 5-inch HD display, but the processor is a 64bit model, there is 2GB RAM, the main camera is 13 mega-pixel and it ships with Android 5.0! What’s more you can get the Elephone for just $119.99 if you are fast!
So nice try Huawei, and thanks for offering lower cost phones internationally, but we are sure you can do a lot better.
