Exclusive: $99 Bluboo C100 teased with 64bit and Android 5.1 Lollipop

It’s turning out to be an amazing year for Chinese smartphones, and you don’t just have to be looking at the flagships to see some improvement even sub $100 phones like the Bluboo C100 are impressive.

At the time of writing Bluboo have only released this rather simple teaser on their official website. The information on the image is nothing but a bunch of numbers to those not familiar with Chinese smartphones, but we think we can figure most of the details out.

The name of the phone seems to be C100 and looking at the screen on the render we can assume it is running Android 5.1 Lollipop. “4G Killer” and the numbers “64 and 4” indicate that we will be looking at a quad-core 64bit Mediatek chip, either the MT6732 or the newer MT6735 with World 4G mode.

Other details are a 5-inch 720p display, pretty amazing for a $99 smartphone, and a metal body measuring only 7.5mm thick.

The teaser does seem to suggest the amount of RAM, battery size, onboard memory or the camera specifications, but so far so good!

I think the complete lack of important details like battery, ram, camera etc is telling as it can’t be up to much to keep the price at $99.

yes, those are very likely the weak points of the device, 99%… but only the presence of the new 64bit SoC makes this little thing interesting for the price.

I can see 8mp interpolated sh*tty back camera, interpolated 5mp utterly s*itty front camera, 1gb ram, 8gb rom and 2000mah battery (maybe with fake 2500-3000 declared mah, like the last tradition of semi-unknown brands wants), which is still the very same as most of actual mt6582 or mt6592m in the very same price range, so not bad again.

But with 30usd more you can take elephone p6000 or UMI Hammer, so as good as it seems for 100$, it’s a “no, thanks” 🙂

This is realy amazing what you can get to day for 100 bucks! 🙂
But as cheaper the price I fear more and more about the battery quality. As we all know most firms cheat us about the mAh of the battery capacity. The thing that I fear now is that it explote one day …

Makes you wonder who comes up with such names as “bluboo” (I imagine a goldfish with a depression) or “daway” (Step aside please you’re in Daway).
