Mlais are currently on a roll. We recently reviewed their M52, which we found to be an amazing value for money device. They also announced the new M4 Note which is looking to be another great phone and to top it off they’ve just posted a teaser showing that Lollipop will be coming to the M52 in three days!
If you haven’t read our Mlais M52 review (which you should), the gist of it is that the device is a fantastic phone with great hardware at a wonderfully low price! The lollipop update was definitely coming and is the icing on the cake.
Gizchina News of the week
This is great news for people who have already bought the M52 or are planning to buy an the 5.5-inch phablet. The Lollipop update will hopefully bring better support for 64-bit chips and better battery life, along with the a UI makeover. Overall, this is very exciting, especially since it’s coming from a smaller manufacturer.
How excited are you for this? Have you already bought an M52? Not interested at all?

I hope u will update your review once the update had been done. Be interesting to know if there are any performance boosts, battery and camera improvements. Otherwise once this update rolls out your review will be largely irrelevant!
Expect to receive my M52 in a week or two, so very excited about this!
Me too 😀
It is very interesting! While an unknown brand’s 149USD phone is getting Lollipop update very fast, well known and bigger brand’s (like Meizu) 200+ and 300+USD phones are just waiting. Why? Because, simply “Lollipop is not stable enough”. I wonder if “big brands” will bring us stable version of Android like 5.2.0 or just lying us for slow development 🙂 All we will see in near future!
So, “Mlais in, others out” for now!
It’s probably because bigger brands like Meizu have custom UIs. If they used stock Android like Mlais, they’d probably update their phones much quicker.
Yeah, you are right Airyl. I wrote down this comment for dummies who said “late update, because android 5 is not stable” 🙂 On the other hand, reality is not changing: they are slow. Especialy Meizu is very slow. I think because of focusing on other OSs like Ubuntu and YunOS. I wish Meizu focuse on Android more than other OSs.
I can’t wait to get mine! I just hope someone manufactures a silicone/TPU case for it.
I need to check if it has the same dimensions than the original note
i use redmi note imak case. with modif for volume button hole. and use tempered glass for redmi note.. it is fit..
I guess there are advantages to being similar to other phones, huh?
Very confused, looking at official m52 measurements and Redmi measurements they are different unless i am missing something. Which redmi note is it that matches this one? Do you have a link for it’s specs? Thanks in advance.
i dont know..
this is pic shown it fit
Thanks. For which Redmi note is this cover?
Xiaomi Redmi Note, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, or Xiaomi Redmi 2?
Thanks in advance.
xiaomi redmi note
To me, (and this is just my opinion…) but I feel this is EXACTLY how Zopo should behave, instead they’re turning out to be a bigger and bigger turd of a company every day!
I’ve just found out that my partners Zopo 3X (ZP999 16GB) WON’T be getting a lollipop update even though it easily won a recent Poll for Lolipop updates (started by Zopo) on their forums, pathetic behaviour I think given the fact that it’s their Flagship device… I’ve now got to try and flog her phone for whatever I can get for it and get some money back to get something with the MT6752 in it…
So on that basis alone, I applaud you Mlais, well done! 🙂 I’m sure her mother will be very happy with the M52 I ordered 3 weeks back (might be ordering another soon!).
I might want to buy one… but first I’d like to know battery life improves with Lollipop
720P ? Mlais u got to be kidding us. At 10$ extra u could have offered 1080P display… Only that point is holding me from buying it.
720p, has better battery life time and FPS.
Battery life 9is so much better on 720P and i before the m52 i had the Lg G3 2K screen and the Oneplus One and fuck me if i can tell the difference.
Elephone are, in theory, providing the Lolipop update for their P6000 “around Monday” according to their support forum, and that’s an even cheaper device. Guess these smaller companies are being as aggressive as possible to capture market share!
today april 15th.. no lolipop update OTA till now
Comon Mlais where the hell is lollipop its the 25th April and still no comment on how much longer
