OnePlus is one of those companies that are hard to ignore. They only have one phone in their kitty yet, and yet they manage to be in the headlines each time (for wrong or for good).
This time round, it is because they’ve been sending out invites for the launch of ‘something’ this April 20th… which is just a couple of days from now. What could it be? It most likely won’t be the OnePlus Two, which according to company CEO Pete Lau is a few months away from now. Having faced a lot of criticism for delaying OnePlus One shipments last year, one would imagine that they would shy from showing off the device now, with a good few months before actual shipments go out.
“From here on out, anything could happen,” is what the invite also reads… references of the same message can be found on the OnePlus website in certain sections.
More recently, OnePlus launched the DR-1 drone… which more than a product, was the result of a PR stunt. We know as much as you do about this upcoming launch, we’ve said our bit here and its up to you to let your thoughts out in the comments section below.

So… something maybe… could be… shown somewhere in the near future… but then again…
I’ve seen bad teasers, but this one is surpassing them all.

Make a quality phone and people for some reason flock to you, strange isnt it.
My OnePlus One agrees with you.
It is very hard to ignore them because they are always doing something new to completely mess up. I have never seen a company that has a good product have this many missteps.
My bet for their new announcement is a new form of the invite system where you have to guess the favorite color and number of one of the developers of the phone. If you correctly guess both you will get 10 entries into a drawing for a chance at getting an invite. If you don’t you move to the bottom of the list.
Sure, they had a killer phone, there’s no two ways about that. But you also have to acknowledge that they really screwed up with their PR stunts more than just once.
OnePlus is probably the most entertaining mobile company. Always going and doing some dumb thing to give me laughs, even though they have the capacity to do good.
I never understood them. They have the product to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Meizu but it’s like the company is run by monkey’s. I would love sit in on a board meeting at One Plus, I can see it now: “does anyone have any good ideas of how we can win customers over”? “That is an excellent idea, but instead lets never settle, let’s do the exact opposite!!”
