Bluboo X550 with MT6735, 5300mAh battery can now be pre-ordered

Bluboo was once a lot more popular here on GizChina than it is now, and it looks like the Chinese maker is keen on getting the lost fame back.

As you might already know, the Bluboo X550 is one phone the company is betting its worth on. The upcoming device will have the all-new MediaTek MT6735 processor, a massive 5300mAh battery and a large 5.5-inch screen… Bluboo is perhaps trying to make an all-in-one kind of a phone here with the X550.

Another highlight will also be the fact that the phone will come not with Android KitKat, not with 5.0 Lollipop but with Android 5.1, which if I’m not wrong will make the X550 the first MediaTek phone to achieve the feat.

Other specifications of this quad-core, 64-bit phone include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage and a camera department consisting of an 8 mega-pixel rear sensor and a 2 mega-pixel front. The 5.5-inch display on the phone has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.

The phone has been found to be listed on GearBest for $188, but using the coupon code ‘X550’ brings the price down to $152.89.

So, would you prefer giving the new MT6735 a shot over the (largely) tried and tested (and lauded) MT6752? Let us know in the comments below!

I know it has been said on this forum before; but seriously, someone needs to have a word in the ear of some of these company’s branding or marketing departments.

Quite simply; there are some names here which are truly cringe worthy and Bluboo is right up there. That name is as close as you can get to “boo boo” which pretty much says mistake! This phone rates a 10 on specs; but that name, well they couldn’t give me that phone unless I lived in a basement all on my own and never went out!

if it had MT6753 for 190$, plus sony camera f1.8, that was great- kill and done.
for an extra 20$, they can have it with better screen resolution.
    NFC is needed,
does it have dual speakers and how is the sound, is it loud enough- too bad they didnt put them on the front or at least on the bottom?
dont care about fingerprint- android OS is not that secure
what about GPS, how accurate is it? does it uses GLONASS like jiayu.

how come LG, Samsung and other known big companies, uses small batteries and their phones last more time, and they use cpu that eat energy, like snapdragon and intel?

It’s hard to know whether I want to buy any new Chinese smartphone these days because the marketing photos are almost always doctored, particularly in the area of screen bezels. Looking at the photo above could lead one to believe that the Bluboo X550 has smaller screen bezels than the LG G2. It definitely will NOT look that way in reality (not even close).

I ordered a ZOPO 3X from Antelife based on its specs and their product “renders” of it, but canceled my order after watching a youtube review that showed the screen bezels were clearly much larger than Antelife’s product photos indicated (that and the fact that they advertised it as having an MTK6595, when it actually has the MTK6595m).

Take a look around the internet at some of the Asus Zenphone 2 product photos and you’ll see what I mean. That phone sports MONSTER screen bezels, but you might not know that depending on which photos you’re looking at. It’s a shame too, because that would have been my next phone purchase had it not been for the terrible screen:body ratio.

I also noticed DAT BEZEL’s on the Zenphone 2. It’s a shame, because Asus is not a nonsense brand like Elephone and they still did it.

Will this phone have a review? Will this be better than Jiayu S3?

we dont need giant phone. 4.5 – 4.7inch phones are perfect.

That’s just your opinion. The market says otherwise.

        April 22, 2015

You’re both right… 4.7-5 and 5.5-5.7 are both perfect. That’s why Apple and Samsung make two models of their Flagships.

More lies about the battery, the full smartphone weighs 0198 kg . My Lenovo A850 weighs 0184kg with a battery of 2250mAh Li -Po …

    April 23, 2015

So yeah, this will have at least 4000Mah..
That’s a solid all-day battery for a heavy user that usually runs out of juice early in the evening
