Gionee’s long awaited successor to the flagship Elife E7 has been sighed in GFXBench. The Elife E8 boasts a 2K display, and high-end Mediatek processor.
I will let you all in to a little secret, I believe I have already seen the rear of the Elife E8, but from a distance and I really wasn’t sure what I was looking at at the time. What I remember from the brief sighting is that the rear looks a little like the IUNI U3 i.e very curved, and there was a fingerprint scanner in the rear. Not much a story on it’s own but with these latest GFXbench scores we have something to talk about.
Codenamed the Gionee GN9008, the Elife E8 has been sighed with a 2k 2560 x 1440 display, 3GB RAM, Android 5.0, 8 mega-pixel front camera, 20 mega-pixel rear and Mediatek MT6795 chipset.
The Mediatek MT6795 is the same chip found in the HTC E9+, yet looking over the scores the Gionee flagship seems to do a little better in the scores.
Chances are that Gionee will ship the E8 with their latest version of Amigo OS, and the fact that the scores are looking good would suggest that they finally have an OS which meets the requirements of the hardware on tap.
No official word from Gionee on the release date yet, but stay tuned to GizChina for more news.

well , got a comment for all of you fans above 😉
I wish I have your will power. I always look for the best deal and end up having to explain to my wife why I spent double my original budget….
ahaha , i think its just one of the perks of being young 😛
anyhow , i’ll keep searching and keep my patience , a golden piece is bound to show up eventually !
Just get a Redmi 2 (2GB) for 799 yuan.
Good Choice i believe my Friend, either this or meizu m1 note.
Today i discovered also this one

New one ,dont know the price yet…i think around 230-250 usd
Here in my country much more…once will arrive
pesky customs increasing the price like jerks eh ?
yes,to be honsest,i never bought a gadget on line,so i am not familiar.
As far as i know there is 5% import tax,and 15 vat 🙁
Thats why iam still in the process of searching, and make my first purchase, just to put my foot on the lader…
Good luck bro..
i hope the customs don’t rip you off !
oh , i wish …. they sell it for THRICE the cost here -_-
Where do you live?
Xiaomiworld and Honorbuy have it for $139.99 (roughly 867 yuan).
PAkistan … 1$ = 102 local currency , so prices are wayyy off!
we have a local reseller here
http://www.allmytech.pk/
but they are notorious for their aggressive pricing policies. just look at some products there and you’ll get an idea…
Ahh yea Pakistan is very tough to buy most products especially with all the international sanctions against your government.
International Sanctions ?! weren’t those against Iran ?
Most of the sanctions that were against Pakistan are no longer in place, they were under sanctions for everything from supporting terrorism to money laundering as well as their deal for the Iranian pipeline. The value of the Rupee plummeted as a result of many of these sanctions.
so THATS why chinese phones cost a fortune here!
oh how i hate the capitalists now 🙁 and the twisted minds present here that support shat like terrorism !
well , looks like i’ll have to fight tooth and nail to buy one here..
10 years ago the Rupee was trading for double what it does today. Today you get about 100 Rupees for every 1 USD, ten years ago you got about 59 Rupees, 15 years ago you got 50 and 20 years ago you would get 34 Rupees. The war on terrorism has killed your countries economy.
thats so true 🙁 , the reason why so many people hate Musharraf for bowing down to USA’s military policy :/
it was suicide from an economist’s POV….
maybe i’ll put off choosing b/w these better Chinese phones and pick up a cheap qmobile instead 🙁
Keep searching you will find the phone thats right for you eventually. And in the meantime you seem to have plenty of loyal followers who are actively watching to see what you will talk about next. They seem to be obsessed with you lol.
I can tell you have never dated/married a Thai girl…
Yeah, never have mate, what’s important is that it works for you 🙂
@balcobomber25 – I think all Asian women are like that. You are lucky to be able to buy a phone (and looks like she is okay with your explanations) … mine reminds me about my ‘working’ S2 on which I flashed lollipop. 😀
@Muhammad Yasir – let me know when you get a deal … good camera, 2 SIM slots and 32GB (expandable or no) is my minimum requirement. Will try explaining the wife. 😛
BTW, we still have our business plans on right… 😉
dunno man , I havent heard of this pepper company BEFORE this note… also , you can always root your phone and force an OS update IF you’re sure your phone won’t be requiring any warranty claims (i.e its a good enuf piece with no problems).
That’s assuming you keep the stock rom. Just root it and use a custom rom that is updated regularly. The stock rom is probably crap to begin with.
I’m with m8,let me know your findings always,fhd,3gb ram and 5.5″+ it’s a must
Thanks, Worthy Companion :p . as soon as i find something worthy of my appraisal , i’ll defo let you know 🙂
Jiayu S3 199 Dollar
I wish you could come here in India and get plenty of good mobiles in your budget.
@ashfaqjunani:disqus , the sentiment is mutual man … infact , i want to go one better than your suggestions.
i really REALLY want india to start introducing their several brands into their neighboring country. im DYING to try out your TATA NANO AMT (i think i have said it a billion times here in these forums) , i really REALLY would like a small car.
also , i was wondering whether you guys would send a few Yu Yureka shipments over to this side… , for a tidy profit. I am also quite curious on the Micromax series…
Offcourse, I would also love if our nations can open free trade between countries. But politics don’t allow this thing. I am also interested if there is any way to legitimately sell things to Pakistan from here.
thats great!
maybe a bilateral agreement in the future will open up routes for BOTH of us ^^ ….
There is a feeling when all of your mates have spent a liver and a kidney getting a mid range overpriced Iphone or Samsung(or dare I say it….HTC!!!) and they show off with them, then you take out your phone that costs peanuts and it destroys them in every benchmark. That’s what it means to be a bargain hunger 😀
GFXBench often mistakenly lists the screen size as 4.6″ for some reason. I think because the UI is scaled as it would be on a 4.6″ phone instead of how it properly should be scaled.
It’s predecessor the E7 was 5.5, this will probably be too. But Gionee usually has a “mini” version as well. The E7 mini was 4.7 inches, the E6 mini was 4.5 inches. I expect the E8 mini to be 5 inches.
Gionee won’t sell this lower than $450. So expect retailers to sell this at $530+
Hope the screen max 5″ and dual sim feature.
will be WAY too expensive… sorry gionee , but no marks for u…
Haha, good old Muhammed Yasir.
Leave Muhammad alone he is bargain hunter.
