Nubia are the local flagship brand for ZTE. Over the past 3 years or so we have seen the Nubia Z5, Z7 and Z9 phones released by the team, with the most recent phones being the Nubia Z9 Max and Z9 mini, and now we await the Z9 Flapships.
Like Oppo and other smartphone brands in China, Nubia seem to be chasing the borderless phone dream. Bosses from the company and spy photos have confirmed that the next Nubia phone will have next to no bezel to the left and right of the screen.
With the launch of the phone so close it is unsurprising we see another leak, this time in the form of Nubia system screenshots that tell users how to enable touch sensitive sides on their Nubia Z9.
Gizchina News of the week
From the screenshots is appears that both the right and left side edges of the Z9 have gesture support for controlling various aspects of the phone. Switching between running apps, brightness control, volume control and image editing seem to be the main features so far with more to be added in the future.
To find out exactly what all the features do, plus learn the official specifications for the Nubia Z9 we will have to wait until 6th May. Also don’t forget May is the month Oppo will launch the R7 and Vivo will release the Vivo X5Pro! Another China phone filled month!

very interesting stuff from zte…..have to wait and watch all these gestures mean……
Those sexy edges could be really nice for an OS like Ubuntu, that is entirely gesture-based…
