Ulefone have posted the official specifications of their Ulefone Be Touch on their website ahead of a presale which will begin early next month.
The Ulefone Be Touch is one very long overdue phone. Originally named the Ulefone Dare N1, the device was set for a release during MWC but never made its way over to Spain. Instead the Dare N1 became the Ulefone Be Touch with a pre-sale date in early May.
Specifications for the Ulefone Be Touch had been seen at a Hong Kong fair early in the month, where the phone was listed with a 5.5-inch HD display. Confusingly our Ulefone contact told us that the phone would launch with an FHD display, then turn around today and tell us that the first launch is for a HD only model, with a FHD version planned (but not confirmed) for a launch at the end of May.
A flagship device with HD display is odd but not totally uncommon, Mlais recently announced their M7 with a 1280 x 720 panel also.
Gizchina News of the week
In addition to being a HD panel, the Ulefone Be Touch will come with a 2.5D curved display, Mediatek MT6752 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, quick charge function, 13 mega-pixel Sony IMX214 rear camera, 5 mega-pixel front and dual SIM LTE. The Ulefone Be Touch will have just a 2550mAh battery, so just as well it has only a HD panel, while supported networks include GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 (band5,band8,band3,band2), WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100 (band5,band8,band2,band1), FDD-LTE: 800/1800/2100/2600(band20,band3,band1,band7).
Other details include Corning Gorilla Glass 3, front facting touch Fingerprint scanner, similar to the Apple Touch ID system, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Dimensions are 158.1 x 77.4 x 8.60 at a weight of 160g while available colours will be Metal Grey and Silk White.
Online resellers are already advertising the Ulefone Be Touch at $219.99.

That’s a shame about the display. I will be sticking with the Elephone p7000 then
it’s crazy..each interesting phone is 5,5″ :((
…still nothing interesting under 5 inches!!!
because GAMES don’t feel so good under 5 inches 😛 !
try zombie highway 2 on 4.7 inches 😀
Comfort in pocket is more important, because it’s a phone… If I would need extreme mobile gaming device, I would buy tablet or laptop.
If there will be no Chinese phone under 4.7 with a good camera I am buying Sony Xperia Z3 compact. I am searching online for a nice phone from 4.5-5 inches and either it is fat/thick and ugly or it is a 5.5 incher.
If the speculations in this article are true about Oppo R7, you might have a Chinese contender vs Sony Z3 Compact.
“It looks like the new phone will sport dual SIM car slots along with LTE support. We’re also expecting a 4.7-inch 1080p display, a 20-megapixel rear camera, an octa-core MediaTek processor and a 2000mAh battery. The company may unleash an Oppo R7 Plus with a larger screen and a bigger battery as well.”
For 5″ screen, Meizu Note Mini, iOcean X9. The Xiaomi Mi4i looks great but only 16gb ROM without support of external memory card which is a letdown. If Xiaomi put in a 32gb ROM, it’ll be a must buy phone for me. I’ve been using iOcean X8 for almost a year and it is still functioning well up to date.
Meizu m1 (mini) it is not available in Europe and iOcean X9 is $250 and has 2100 mAh non removable battery. Onother option would be Xiaomi Redmi 2 2GB but for me the price in Europe is not justified.
Redmi 2 1gb version is available here locally in Singapore at SGD169 (USD125). I’ve bought 1 as a spare phone. It perform perfectly smooth without noticing it has only 1gb ram. The battery life is good too. Its the best budget phone to my view. I find that Xiaomi products maybe cheap but can rest assure that it’ll come with good quality.
Xiaomi Mi4i will be available here soon in May. I heard it’ll be the best quality budget phone but only 16gb without supporting of Microsd.
I agree with you about Xiaomi, but how does it sounds to you almost $190 for the Xiaomi Redmi 2 2GB version?
To me, a local set Redmi 1gb ram cost only USD125 with free fast shipping. At USD190, mean I need to pay extra USD65 for additional 1gb ram/8gb rom. It sound a bit expensive for the add on ram and rom but I think the reliability worth it. But think of it again, USD190 maybe too close to the Mi4i when it is available here in May. Hard decision.
Our location is different and thus situation is different. I won’t buy Redmi 2 2gb version at USD190. If I need to buy now, I will buy ASUS Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL 2GB/16GB 5″ screen) as it is available here locally in Singapore for SGD249 (USD184) with local warranty. Or if I have time, I’ll wait for Xiaomi Singapore to launch the Redmi 2 2gb/16gb and see what’s the local price before deciding.
You have to shop around I have seen the 2GB version for as low as $150 on some sites but usually around $165. For $165 it is a great value.
well, “it’s all about Benjamins” $$$$, if i may quote puff daddy 🙂 It’s all about how much do u want to spend on a phone. For around $300 there are a few decent options for 5″ or 140mm height phones like Xiaomi Mi4i or ZTE Z9 Mini. But for let’s say $200? I also didn’t find a compact phone that suits my needs, a phone coming from a respectable chinese company.
If UlefoneTouch can release FHD 1080p Be Touch also with upgraded battery, then will purchase (after the Elephone P7000 of course, to compare)
