This month will see the launch of the Vivo X5Pro, but if you don’t want to spoil the surprise then you may want to turn away now as the phone has just appeared in official TENAA documentation.
TENAA is basically the FCC for China, and a great source of leaks of upcoming phones. With the release of the Vivo X5Pro just around the corner, it was only a matter of time before the phone was spotted at TENAA and here it is.
Starting with the images first. The Vivo X5Pro boasts a 2.5D display, a glass panel with thinner edges for a smooth ‘curved’ feel. This doesn’t really come as a surprise as Vivo had told us as much in teasers. What is interesting though is the use of 2.5D glass on the front and rear. Combined with a round alloy chassis, the curved nature of the glass should give the new Vivo a very comfortable body.
The images also reveal that Vivo haven’t gone for a bezel-less design, and have actually kept their bezels quite wide.
Gizchina News of the week
On the rear is a single LED flash and rear camera. There are no speaker grills on the rear meaning that we should see speakers in the bottom either side of a port for charging and storage, the port is rumoured to be a Type C USB.
We can also make out a power button, volume rocker and rather large SIM tray which could have space for either dual SIM and even a Micro SD card.
As for specifications the Vivo X5Pro is said to have a Snapdragon 615 processor, large battery and ‘Eye ID’ retina scanner. The TENAA pages showing the actual specifications are currently unavailable but we will update with another post once we learn more.

Finally a phone for many kids in here.
This one has a SD card slot plus it comes with a SD615 and not with the throttling SD810. No black frame either, they even took a frontal picture of it.
What else? Ahh, make sure you are ready to put your signature on a big fat check.
Getting tired of Vivo’s recycled phone design and lack of body color choices (always white, only white). I can only remember the xshot coming out in a color other than white (but white also available).
This is just sad. What an average-looking phone. Always white. And those bezels.
So disappointing. I’m living in China right now and I see Vivo ads EVERYWHERE. I guess they spend a lot in advertising and not so much on improving their phones, huh.

It’s ugly. Really. I refuse to believe that they are real.
