No one said “they don’t charity” look at all the price drops they have for their phones that’s something not a lot of companies as big as them do. What we did say was they are a business who’s main goal is to make a profit, something you failed to understand.

Certain fanboys honestly don’t care, they know they are getting a quality product everytime from a great company.

Certain fanboys can also tell you have zero experience in running a business and don’t realize this will only help their bottom line. But that’s another topic for another day.

Certain trolls you know…they are just trolls.

Do you know what supply and demand is? The very first rule of demand is that a decrease of price will lead to an increase of demand. There are thousands of studies on consumer behavior as a result of supply and demand that show even the slightest decrease in price will lead to an increase in demand. For the Mi Note Pro the demand wasn’t there, 2K phones are still a niche market, so they needed to create demand. They could have lowered the price just 10 yuan and it would have a positive effect.

The other side is how Xioami normally operates: when demand is high, offer less supply. That is why there flash sales often only have tens of thousands of units which is small in the grand scale of things. Companies due this for a number of reasons, One Plus did it to wait for it’s costs to decrease because the profit margin was very small.

As for your overpriced claim. By what measurement are using? The most useful tool to evaluate prices is to judge competition and not a users opinion. Let’s look at competing 2k devices and see what they launched at to see if it is overpriced:

Oppo Find 7 – 3,498

Vivo Xplay 3S – 3,498

MX4 Pro – 2499

Nubia z9 – 4323

LG G4 – 3749

Given this sample set we can conclude it was only overpriced in your opinion, in the real world it was actually underpriced even with the initial pricing.

Yet again I displayed four competitors, 3 were priced higher, one was priced lower. Using real world facts it wasn’t overpriced at all. In your mind it was overpriced, that is your opinion nothing else. In real life it was priced right on target.

Demand wasn’t there for a variety of reasons, we can rule out being overpriced as one of them by the simple fact that all those phones priced more than this have sold in good volume. I don’t expect you to understand this though as no matter what Xiaomi prices phones at they are “overpriced” in your mind. It’s perfectly acceptable their phones aren’t for everyone.

Xiaomi discounted the price they never shared anything about it being overpriced. What you fail to comprehend is that to justify something as “overpriced” you have to compare it’s price to its competition within the same market segment. I offered a small sample size which shows it is below the market price for the 2K segment. You may personally think it is overpriced for what it offers but that is an opinion and nothing more. I mean no disrespect but do you have any experience in marketing or sales?

The Z9 Max is a 1080p phone. You find it is overpriced that is your personal opinion based on two other phones (one which isn’t even the same category) you conclude it is overpriced.

But based on the market as a whole which includes all 2k phones, it is not overpriced. It’s been fun arguing with you about this but it’s just beating a dead horse at this point. I hope you are never in charge of a sales department.
