The Xiaomi Power Strip is another example of Xiaomi diversifying its range, and another example of a well made, and well priced must have accessory.
You can get the Mi Power Strip through Flosmall for $12 with the code: gizstrip.
If you have ever ordered a gadget, phone, powerbank, tablet, etc from China you probably also received one of those rather cheap adapter plugs for using the Chinese plug in your mains outlets. My main issue with these adapters, other than their dubious build, is the fact that I can never find one when I need it, and when I do it is usually the loose one that won’t hold the plug in the socket.
That’s all in the past now though as I have upgraded to a Xiaomi Power Strip.
Xiaomi announced the power strip in China for only 49 Yuan, international pricing through resellers is around $15.
Like any other power strip, you have a power switch, good length of quality mains cable and a few sockets for plunging in your device, but with the addition of 3 x USB plugs.
The power strip still requires the use of one adapter plug (Flosmall sent over a quality adapter with ours) to connect to the mains, but once hooked up it is much more convenient for keeping your devices juiced.
The built-in USB’s offer 2A charging, so if you do have a fast charger you will need to connect to the main sockets with the fast charger that came with your device.
Each socket offers added protection, and there are even plastic gates inside to stop little fingers touching the powerpoint inside. A built-in 10a overload protection unit offers added safety while the body is made of flame retardant material.
It might not be a sexy gadget, but the Xiaomi Power Strip is a great value accessory that anyone with a few Chinese gadgets will appreciate owning.
Xiaomi don’t currently offer their Power Strip outside of China, but resellers have stock and are selling them now.
How long till we see other phone makers jump on the power strip bandwagon?

Mine shipped yesterday from GeekBuying. Like Andi said, they shipped mine with an adapter for Nigeria. I’m just hoping they shipped the right adapter. I’ll find out in 3 weeks max
Hey bro, How much did it cost in naira? Shipping n all? Is it any good?
Thanks
@Atere I’m not sure of the cost in naira as I use a dollar Mastercard. The device works fine but the USB port doesn’t charge as fast my phone’s actual adapter.
It’s quite portable though and comes in handy when there’s only one outlet and I’ve got loads of stuff to charge
Yup, I wonder what it takes to support UK type plugs. Would have it a bestseller in UK and its erstwhile colonies.
It doesn’t have a removable cable like the Orico HPC 2A 4U powerstrip. Although ordered from China Orico send me the unit with a EU plug cable so no converter needed as with the powerstrip. As for the design the Xiaomi wins this battle.
You can attach an adaptor or maybe even better strip the current socket plug and attach a new UK one ( they should be easily found in any DIY shop ).
Or better still just buy a standard android charger for couple of pound since they all use micro USB. I’m using a charger from an old galaxy note as the adaptors are usually crap that they send out with the phone.
It’s not the same thing, I want this because it’s so much better, it has 3 integrated high power ( 2A ) chargers and I can plug in my Chinese bought devices ( those that run on 220V but have that Chinese plug) and it has protection.
It’s not that hard to just mount a plug to it … I’ll probably be done with mounting my EU plug to in 10-15 min …
It’s really very helpful ,I got 3 Chinese devices mobiles and tablet and that is very cool solution I have the same problem as you Andy I didn’t find this converter when I need it .
i also have 3 Chinese devices mobiles, but the seller Flosmall always ship with free EU adapter ,so i did not have that problem .but if xiaomi power strip have separate switch will be very better .
nope, I’ve not seen them for years
Chances that you will find them are slim because Xiaomi doesn’t sell them anymore so Chinese shops will also not get them unless they have stock. One shop offers them for $54 a pair. Also they go only to size 8. Happy hunting.
I miss those days of Xiaomi selling the most random products to get their brand name out there. And if I remember correctly everything was so cheap, they were selling tshirts for about $8. I wasn’t a fanboy back then so I didn’t order anything but I would love some Xiaomi apparel now. I have seen knock off’s of the sneakers in a few markets in China but they were obviously fakes.
