Huawei are reported to have 8 new smartphones in the works according to a leaked roadmap. Details of the models after the jump.
Early today we posted a road map with 4 new Xiaomi phone models listed for release before the end of the year. While those devices are interesting they aren’t all that relevant to phone fans outside of Xiaomi’s launch zones, on the other hand the Huawei models posted on the same roadmap are likely to be available.
Huawei apparently have 8 models to Xiaomi’s 4, those induce the Huawei Ascend D8, Huawei Mate 8, Huawei Honor 7 and 3 other Huawei Honor models.
The first model is set for release later this month (May). According to the roadmap (hope you have your salt shakers ready) the Huawei Ascend D8 will boast a 5.5-inch 2K display, metal body and Hisilcon processor.
June will see the launch of the next generation Huawei Mate phablet. The Huawei Mate 8 gets a 6-inch 2K display, Kirin chipset, OIS and 16 mega-pixel camera. It is also likely to have a fingerprint scanner and retain a similar classy alloy chassis to the Mate 7.
2 models will be released on July, although the actual model names have not been set they will be in the Honor range and aimed at the mid-range market. A 5.5-inch FHD model with metal body will be the highlight with a 5-inch HD phone, with metal chassis and Qualcomm chipset.
The Huawei Honor 7 will arrive in August. 2 variants look set to launch. A top of the range Huawei Honor 7 with dual 13 mega-pixel main camera, 5.5-inch FHD display, and Kirin processor, followed by a 5.5-inch single 13MP model. The Huawei P9 is also scheduled for an August launch with 5.2-inch display, Kirin processor, OIS and 16 mega-pixel main camera.
And finally there will be another mid-range Huawei Honor model with 5-inch FHD display and Hisilcon chipset released in December.
Of the models listed I’m especially interested in the Huawei Honor 7 with dual 13 mega-pixel camera, Mate 8 and P9. Which of these rumoured Huawei models peaks your interest?
Will the Huawei P9 really come this year, as the P8 was only introduced last month ?
It was already hard to follow Huawei’s product range.
