Elephone are adding a little style to their collection with the launch of the thin Elephone S2 with dual glass design.
The Elephone S2 will come in two sizes, the basic 5-inch Elephone S2, and larger 5.5-inch Elephone S2 Plus. The elegant design in the photos shows a dual glass design with interesting pattern on the rear and what appears to be an alloy chassis visible on all four edges.
Gizchina News of the week
Our Elephone source has only confirmed partial specifications for the devices and confirms more details will be made available soon. From what we have been told it sounds as though both versions of the Elephone S2 will come with 2GB RAM and 64bit quad-core MT6735 chipset and 4G LTE. The smaller 5-inch version will get a more affordable 720 x 1280 HD display and 2100mAh battery while the 5.5-inch model will receive a 1920 x 1080 FHD panel and larger 2600mAh battery.
The images also seem to show a 2.5D glass display on the front, micro USB and a dual LED flash on the back. The design is similar to the latest Nubia Z9 and upcoming Vivo X5Pro models.
A release date and pricing haven’t been announced, but we will post more details as soon as we learn them.
One factor is they appear to be very thin based on the photos, with phones this thin battery almost always is the first thing that suffers.
I thought that the MT6735 does not support FHD. How come the S2+ will have FHD screen if it will spot that SoC?
The MT6735 standar version can handle FHD, only the M and P versions can’t handle FHD.
