Teclast is among the more respected tablet makers in China. Although the design ‘inspiration’ on a lot of the Teclast tablets is hard to miss, the hardware itself does make a strong point.
Earlier today, a very affordable tablet from the Chinese company went on sale… in the form of the Teclast X70. It isn’t super powerful; you can think of it as a device to get things done on the move (without expecting too much).
The X70 has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, a SoFIA Atom x3-C3130 (it’s an Intel chipset that isn’t even a month old), 512MB RAM (a major disappointment), 4GB on-board ROM and a 2 mega-pixel rear / VGA front camera.
In other words, the Teclast X70 is a super affordable tablet that you might find useful on the move (for its 3G abilities) at US$70. I personally don’t see a lot of other use cases for the product. However, a simple yet non-ugly design (ugly designs are VERY common on cheap tablets) plays in favour of the device.
For now, the device can be found for US$70 on GeekBuying. Maybe in a month or so, the prices will drop to around US$60, which I think would be a very good price to pay for a device like this.
