Hong Kong’s Nuu Mobile announced today the Nuu X3, which is a rather entry-level phone but with 4G LTE capabilities.
The phone is powered by a quad-core, 1.2GHz processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410) and has a rather austere 1GB of RAM with 8GB of storage on board, which can be expanded via microSD. It also has a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 pixel qHD display and a camera segment consisting of an 8 mega-pixel rear sensor and a 2 mega-pixel front.
It runs Android v4.4 KitKat, but if the company is to be believed, a Lollipop ROM would soon be making its way for the device. A 2000mAh battery provides juice to the aforementioned internals. The highlight however remains to be 4G LTE support, which the device supports on bands 2,4,17.
The Nuu X3 will come in Black and White for US$179.99 unlocked. It will be available via a few channels including Amazon, BestBuy, Target.com and more.
For about the same price (US$180), you could get yourself a 3GB RAM phone with the MT6752, in exchange of domestic availability (if you’re in the US). Which route would you rather go? Let us know in the comments section below.

That’s pure wastage of resources. That phone won’t sell up to 2 units in Nigeria. Except maybe the price is brought down to $75 or $90 at most.
A kitkat mt6582 4.0inch qHD phone with 1gb ram, 8gb rom and 2000mah goes for about $67.
Hahaha…its like saying all cars are same..how can you even relate 6582 with 4G LTE?
That is where you are supposed to reason, does 4g lte equal $90 more? Ask yourself.
Am sorry you’re so brilliant and am not.
I guess you were told the chip costs $40 right?
An sd410 is no better than an mt6582 coupled with the mt6290 lte modem. In this context.
Lol…power consumption.. you have any clue on that?… why will mtk replace AP+BB solution with SoC LTE chips such as 6732 and 6735? Fyi, MTK was giving out mt6290 for free to maintain its customer base from jumping to Qualcomm chipsets, hence the low price and short life!
If you feel all you’ve mentioned justifies the price then I guess it works for you. Please order one then.
Oh btw,…mtk6582 vs SD410 …. I suppose you’re the benchmarking type..your answer will be run Antutu and figure it out yourself…. If you’re not that type, I believe you will stop replying.
Not necessarily. I deal more on performance per value. Notice me mentioning “in this context?”. You can buy the darn phone if you feel the price is OK. I gave reasons why neither I or any other person in my vicinity will.

What an entry! I think they have entered into the wrong room. They hit the wrong elevator button. Maybe they were looking for the basement and end up to the top floor. Or is a misprint in the press release: $79.99 instead of $179.99.
