Xiaomi Mi4i arrives on reseller sites for $289.99

xiaomi mi4i

For once it is the Chinese Xiaomi fans who are having trouble getting hold of the Xiaomi Mi4i which has already appeared in India, Hong Kong and now reseller sites.

The Xiaomi Mi4i was released in India a few weeks back as a budget smartphone with some rather nice high-end features including a quality 13 mega-pixel main camera, and new 1080FHD Sunlight Display for better daytime viewing.

Other highlights of the Xiaomi Mi4i include dual SIM 4G LTE, 2GB RAM, and 2nd generation Snapdragon 615 octacore chipset.

Reseller site Honorbuy currently have stock of the Xiaomi Mi4i and are selling the phone for $289.99. Also on the Honorbuy store is the Xiaomi Mi3 at just $229.99 which is well worth a look and offers similar hardware to the Mi4i.

There’s a few problems that resellers face with these phones. 1. They are only being sold in one country as of today, meaning supply is very limited. 2. There isn’t much room for profit when Xiaomi is selling the phone at around $210. 3. The Mi4 hasn’t been out for quite some time and didn’t sell as well as Xiaomi hoped, it was also recently given a price cut. $275-280 is about what I expected these to be sold for.

WTF!!! Just wondering what they smoke everyday?! It is almost 254€ taking actual low USD/EUR rates excluding shipping costs, moreover poeple who already bought it in India have heating issues up to 52 degrees for a normal usage. It is better to go for the MI4 which is better and sold around $300.

I have seen a few videos on Youtube from trusted reviewers and they said the overheating only occurred when running intensive games for long periods of time. During normal usage the temperature was in line with other phones.

I saw a few videos like you and read some comments on gsmarena regarding the heating issue or other complaints. Maybe Xiaomi will fix the heating issue through a software update. That being said, I think that a fair price for the MI4i after resellers should be around $250 maximum without shipping costs.

Depends how much resellers are paying for it, keep in mind they have costs of their own they have to account for. They are not a charity they are a business. With the very low stock that exists they are probably paying a premium for it.

This is like this every time a new Xiaomi product hits the market.
All resellers are pricing it higher to bank up money on first purchasers.
Give it a month or two, when it becomes more available and the price will get lower and more stable between all of the resellers.
My guesstimate is that it would be sold around 230$ in a month time.

Just white color? A lot of people asking for black phones and Xiaomi only sell white phones in every new model. I think to have a red one will not happen :/

It’s selling in Singapore for 279 SGD though stock goes very fast everytime they release a batch for sale. Only white available. Check out ‘mi.com/sg’.

That’s the official price of the phone, about $210. For anyone who wants it that doesn’t live in Singapore, India or Hong Kong they have to buy it from a reseller which is what these prices are.

Well noticed. This is one of the main reasons I moved away from Xiaomi. Maybe the (rumored) Mi4s will provide bigger storage facilities.
