Mlais M7 scores over 48,000 in Antutu

Mlais have released Antutu benchmark results for their flagship Mlais M7, and they are looking rather good!

With 3GB RAM and Mediatek MT6752 processor, the Mlais M7 boasts similar hardware to other Chinese flagship phones available at this time. The M7 aims to fight against simler device also sporting secure fingerprint scanner security features like the Ulefone Be Touch and the Elephone P7000.

To keep the buzz rolling for their phone, Mlais have released Antutu benchmark result screenshots showing us what their phone is capable of. The Antutu score reveals that the Mlais M7 sits below the Meizu MX4 and Samsung Note 4, but above the OnePlus One overall with an impressive score of 48,262 points.

Part of the reason for the higher than expected score is the lower resolution 1280 x 720 display (the same resolution as the Ulefone Be Touch). Most other flagships have a full HD 1920 x 1080 panel up front.

Mlais aim to have the first batch of M7 shipping to customers at the end of May. The phone comes with a metal frame, 13 mega-pixel Sony IMX135 processor and touch ID style finger print scanner on the rear cover.

The HD screen is a deal breaker here at this size for me, FHD only for anything 5.5+ in size. The RAM is also slow according to the benchmark, If they put some fast RAM in this phone would’ve got 50,000 points! Too many corners cut for my liking to keep the costs down.

  You should not complain about a smartphone with this performance at $200. Instead of complaining, just go to your bank and pick up $900 to buy a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

    I’m not whining, and yes a good HD screen is better than a bad FHD. However since there are so many choices in this price range with very similar spec this doesn’t cut it. Considering I just bought my mother the Jiayu S3 for $167 and that also has 3GB RAM, a better camera (IMX214 v 135 in this, dual led v single led) a FHD screen V HD, stereo speakers v single speaker etc. Why would I want to pay $30+ more for this to have numerous downgrades? I would rather a Jiayu over an Mlais any day and I don’t think the fingerprint scanner is worth all the extra $$$’s with lower specs elsewhere!
    BTW I wouldn’t use a Samsung phone if THEY PAID ME!!

        A seller on Aliexpress had them on offer last week, $145 for 2GB version and $167 for 3GB version, at that price it was a no brainer! Price has gone back up now but they change daily so always worry checking.

        That’s why I like buying on Aliexpress as getting my money back is easy if there’s a problem, the seller has 100% feedback on the phone so I’m quite confident and the tracking appears to be working. Wait and see…

  As long as it’s over 240 PPI you can call it satisfying, 300+ Good & 570 is a possible maximum that human eye can recognize (top of the pops eyes of 20 year’o).

It`s an affordable gaming phone. Much rather buy this than Samsung A3, which runs S410 and costs over 200$!

    I have a friend who works for IBM who figured out how to cheat Antutu, it took him less than an hour to figure it out.

It’s like when teenagers have nothing better to do than measuring their dicks to see who has the biggest one and maybe none of them will ever see a vagina.
Is Mlais a reliable brand?
Do they make a good ROM?
Do they release updates to fix issues?
How’s the build quality?
How’s the strength and reliability of GSM,GPS and WiFi signal?
How does the battery perform?
Does it take good pictures?
We are still speaking of a smartphone, aren’t we?

  Totally agree. A smartphone is a combination of a lot of different components (both hardware and software), it’s not about the soc only. I’m using the Mlais M52 and quite disappointed with the phone, except the blazing fast soc and adequate display screen, everything else is pretty much terrible (speaker, camera, calling quality, battery, os, etc.).

    I don’t think the perception has changed at all. Samsung has made one of their best phone to date and yet I hear people complaining about touchwiz or how hard is to put custom ROMs on it.

      I’m talking about Samsung Electronics in General. I’ve got 2 unuasable iTouch players that Windows refuses to recognise. A Hitachi TV blow up due to bad power supply. HP Laptop die due to Nvidia GPU failure. All just after warranty ran out. Unfortunately for me these things can happen! Most were too costly to fix. Cheaper to buy new!

        I understand,but my point is that I’ve read so many comments like:
        “That phone sucks,it only has 37k Antutu points”
        And then they might point another phone that in their opinion is better because it has 44k Antutu points.
        Truth is that that points mean absolutely nothing, and the phone with higher score might even perform worse.
        That said, they don’t even bring up real features like good battery performance, polished software, good gsm gps Wi-Fi signal etc.
        You can have all the points of this world but they won’t help you if you have a yellow screen, ghost touches, bad GPS, awful camera, overheating phone.
        That’s what I meant.

        I get your point on Quality & even Antutu comment but all manufacturers will want to highlight positive aspects of phone regardless of the other qualities you highlight which can be subjective. The same goes for other revered benchmark tools like 3dmark. Many people highlight Max performance ignoring min or average or even resolution even though these dictate whether or not a game stutters!

        lol So far I’m happy I bought ECOO E04 (Touch wood) 😀 after a Samsung phone I had stopped charging, even after getting new battery. Even expensive items like the Mitsubishi & Panasonic TV’s I have, have had defects of one kind or another but manufacturers say they are within tolerance. Panasonic’s OTA firmware updates delete Smart TV features you paid for instead of fixing incompatible functions to do with UK FreeviewHD Digital TV broadcasting standard!

  Let me explain the Antutu scores shortly. The MTK SoC’s score that good (especially compared to Qualcomm one’s) because of two reasons:
  Firstly because Antutu have MP suport for all cores so they all work & make a part of the score with MTK core pilot. How ever this doesn’t refract the real apps that mostly use up to two cores & there for real performance.
  Second one is GPU test based on Anarchy engine with scenes that have a lot of water. Water uses adaptive surface texture transform, a thing that MALI dues pretty good & Adrenos are horrible at. The Antutu team even tried to easy this up for Adrenos lowering the quality & number of transformations along making it a test for apple’s & oranges. This is why Antutu Benchmark app have only two star’s from me. However this flow of Adrenos is present in some of real games like GTA series & represent a real Adreno arhitekture problem.
  Interesting to see are 3D Mark results not because 3D GPU scores that are representative (without any surface texture transforms) but physics (CPU) scores. If you take a good look in physics scores you will see how A53’s actually outperform Krait cores per MHz. Jerking off is nothing mandatory.

    For them it’s all about price/SoC
    Price is a floating variable that follows the market and market is made by demand/offer.
    Some people might spend a extra buck for suppot, some for design, some for camera, some for software.
    They decided to limit this just to SoC which is the most volatile of the variable since whatever is last technology today it will be obsolete in 6 or 12 months. Definitely it lasts less that other things.” Don’t buy now, new SoC is going to be out in 6 months ”
    Then, wait a second… Don’t buy in 6 months because in 12 a more powerful one is coming…. Hey, just wait…
