OnePlus’ announcement for June 1 will ‘shake up the tech industry’

OnePlus has announced in true OnePlus fashion that the Chinese company is going to ‘shake up the tech industry’. To be very fair, that is something their first and only phone yet — the OnePlus One — did also.

There’s no word on what the event will see, but we doubt if it’ll be the OnePlus Two. The OnePlus Two (or whatever the company chooses to call it) will come in the third quarter this year, so there’s at least a couple months to go before that.

The teaser depicts a half-erased image of a OnePlus One and reads ‘Time to change’. ‘Time to change’… could it be a OnePlus Smartwatch? Rumours of a device like that did show up at a point in time but seem to have died down since. Speculations around the announcement also include the possibility of a OnePlus One price cut (wouldn’t that be cool?).

Thankfully though, there’s less than a week to go before we come to know. Let us know what you expect to see on that date!

This time you need to send them a blood sample to win a opportunity to get a invite for their flash sale!

Love this way of thinking!!! cheers! really laughed on this 😀
My (real) guess is a new design with very good specs in a good price. This means thin bezels, keeping the good stuff that people liked in 1+1 and adding what was missing.
I think that 1+1 listens their community so they are aware of the problems their phone had or what people missed and wanted in a future phone.

My guess will be a redesigned OPO. Similar specs but a new body similar to what the console industry do with their slim consoles.

It that would drop price it would be a BINGO! But I’m suspicious because new enclosure would mean new tooling and higher initial cost

My guess is a 5′ OPO with a new design (I would love OIS but that’s not likely to come).

I think that OPO will go with new powerfull Mediatek SOC with 480FPS slow motion camera, the price will be lower then snapdragon 810 based device(and cooler 🙂 ).

Love the way OPO plays their game.
Well they keep us one our toes and guessing – their marketing team knows their game.

OnePlus teases too much and does too little , at this point i got way too bored of empty “threats”.
Objectively there isn’t much they can do that would be exciting on the phone side. Sure a price drop to at least match the China prices but that would be something they should have done already. Having the Exynos 7420 is unlikely, or curved screen so nothing interesting can really be done now. Same hardware , microSD and very thin upper and lower bezels would be nice but not quite enough.
A tab could work , if they had a 8.4 2560×1600 with MT8173 , 3GB RAM , microSD at 200$, it would be rather great but hard to say if it would sell well enough.
An Android Wear watch at 99$ or less would be interesting but i doubt they have the competence to make something far better than anything on the market and it would be preferable if it wasn’t another dumbwatch clone.
But this is clearly about phones and if they go 1440p and SD810 at 300$ it would be about as boring as it can get, sure some would be happy that the price is not up but price shouldn’t be up to begin with.
If Google expands Cardboard in a big way at IO (May 28) and OnePlus has some Oculus like glasses at 99$ or less, it could be at least interesting or even great, depending on how much Google did.
