Asus have joined the selfie bandwagon with a new device with front facing camera centric features. Keep reading for more details of the Asus Zenfone Selfie.
Today, Asus are in Taiwan at Computex announcing a shed load of new products from a 2nd generation Zenwatch to the new Asus Zenfone Selfie. The Selfie phone looks a lot like the Zenfone 2 we reviewed a few weeks back, with the same rear located volume rocker and 5.5-inch 1080 display.
To make this a selfie centric phone the front camera is a 13 mega-pixel sensor with F2.2 aperture, wide angle lens and dual LED flash. The rear camera is the same 13 mega-pixel sensor, dual LED flat but with F2.0 aperture and laser autofocus or PDAF.
In addition to the camera centric features the Zenfone Selfie also comes with Asus’s Zenfone UI over Android 5.0, running on a Snapdragon 615 chipset. Asus have given the Selfie brighter colours than the Zenfone 2 including pink, baby blue, and white.

Ah! Ah! …They lost me at Snapdragon 615. I’ll pas on this one. Thought it might share the same Atom SoC like the Zenfone 2.
On a second thought, this could very well suit my wifey. Hmm … she is a sucker for pink color and the pink colored one will make her love me even more. Gotta get her one to replace her already old LG Optimus G Pro or just as a second phone 😛
I wonder why they chose the Snapdragon SoC over the Intel Atom chips they’ve been using for the past few iterations of the Zenfone devices? Looks like a great phone for ‘self-zentered’ teenagers!
