OnePlus One will cost from just $249 in flash sales

So the big news is in! OnePlus have announced that the OPO will be available from a lower retail price of just $249 during flash sales throughout June.

Last week we reported that OnePlus might announce a price drop today, and we were right but there is a catch. Rather than just simply cutting the cost of the OPO by $50 for all those wanting to be the “2014 Flagship Killer”, the start-up will instead hold flash sales of the phone.

The flash sales will be help through out June on the following dates:

June 1 – 12:00 GMT (8 am EST)
June 2 – 2:00 GMT (10 pm EST -1 day)
June 3 – 12:00 GMT (8 am EST)
June 4 – 2:00 GMT (10 pm EST -1 day)
June 5 – 12:00 GMT (8 am EST)
June 6 – 2:00 GMT (10 pm EST -1 day)
June 7 – 12:00 GMT (8 am EST)

The price drop is only for customers buying the OnePlus One through the global website. Customers in India and Southeast Asia will need to wait for similar deals to be offered.

This is the news that supposes to shake the industry? That’ s it? If Samsung sell the Edge at 250$, yes it will shake the industry, but not their 1 year old phone.

  Even if Samsung sold one of their 1 year old phones for $250 it would shake the industry lol. Some stores list the S4 at over $300 new (of course you can always find it cheaper)

    I even find a shop in Vietnam selling locked Galaxy S5 from KDDI (Australia) at 280$ !!!

      You can find the S5 at really good prices because it was a sales disaster for Samsung. Problem with the S5 is it didn’t offer anything significantly better than the S4 and it was released around the same time as the incredibly amazing Note 4.

It’s actually a good deal but they should give option for USD and EUR payment for EU countries. This 50€ price rising is stupid

    In size or specs?
    A similar phone in size but IMO better specs and price is the IUNI U3

    LeTV one is better.
    One is not a bad device, but if i want a great experience I will spend a bit more(Letv, Xiaomi mi note, etc around 400$) and if i want just a normal phone i will go for something like Lenovo K3 note, Meizu m2 note (around 170$).

        Sry, don’t know. Its kind of new phone so maybe is not avaible directly in Europe. Use some of the chinise sites.

indications on the oneplus forum is that the flash sale sold out immediately today. they were joking that there were only 6 phones available at the reduced price.
OP has become a bit of a joke, imho. only real saving grace is the US bands that it covers, otherwise there are more compelling options.

Curious to see how long OnePlus can milk the One as it’s unprecedented for a mobile manufacturer to sell the same phone for over a year as its flagship product.

OnePlus will remain perfectly relevant in this household until another manufacturer gets the bright idea to sell a phone that can be used on both 3G and 4G when traveling between China and US.

  Uhh Samsung has a lot of dual mode phones out now. If you bothered to look the Samsung S6 G9200 supports a multitude of bands and networks (including US Band 28 which a lot of dual mode phones don’t have) well above and beyond that of the OnePlus. I’m guessing you got the Chinese OnePlus One because otherwise the international model does not support TD-SCDMA.

    I should have stated “another manufacturer covered on GizChina” to clarify. International OP will run on 3G in US (AT&T, T-Mobile) and China (China Unicom). It also runs on 4G in US (same carriers +) and China (China Mobile). Pick your poison in China, but at least the bands are there. True, I could have bought an iPhone or S6, but not for $299.

      Yes I get it but most international phones will run on China Unicom since they use industry standard WCDMA 3G and FD-LTE bands so this isn’t anything special for the OnePlus. The real trick is in true dual mode phones which can do WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, FD LTE, and TD LTE which the international OnePlus cannot.
      Having TD-LTE without TD-SCDMA (like the international OnePlus One) is kind of stupid as the second you’re outside of 4G coverage you’re going to be transported back to the stone-age and stuck on 2G Edge or even worse, GPRS.
      I’m glad the OnePlus supports the bands you need but it’s band offering isn’t anything out of the ordinary as starting last year a lot of phones started offering increased international band support or even better; true dual mode band support. Apple, LG, HTC and Samsung all have them now with prices all over the board. The Samsung A3 has true dual mode band support for about $250. Meizu and Xiaomi are also making dual mode phones now albeit not supporting as many bands as the international players are putting into theirs.

        The HTC E9+ also offers a whopping number of bands (though missing AWS on 3G and 4G) but it’s $435. Nice phone, though. Anyway, the OnePlus is doing the trick, so it’s all good. Owned every Meizu from M9>MX3 and still have the MX3, but starting with the MX4 they pared down their coverage; no more AWS on 3G and the standard 1/3/7 FDD LTE combo that every Chinese manufacturer seems stuck on.
