Cast your mind back to early last year and you may remember that ZTE’s Nubia brand released the monstrous 6.44-inch Nubia X6. Rumours today are that Nubia are about to replace the phablet with a smaller successor.
The Nubia X6 might not have been the sell out success the Z5 and Z7 were, but the phablet did offer some neat features from a large batter, good amount of RAM, 2K display and powerful Snapdragon 801 chipset. The phone’s size may have been the reason for smaller sales, which might explain why this rumoured replacement has just a 5.5-inch display.
Specs leaked show partial details and a render of the Nubia X8 with the most notable features being a borderless design, very large 5120mAh battery and shockingly slim 7.9mm body. The details also tell us the phone will have 4GB RAM, either 32 or 64GB internal memory, and overall dimensions of 163 x 75 x 7.9mm at a weight of 201g.
Looking at previous Nubia phones it seems likely the Nubia X8 (if genuine) will get a Qualcomm chipset, Nubia ROM based on Android 5.0 or higher and also get decent camera specifications. Keep your eyes on the news for more details.
