After weeks of hype, leaks and rumours, Meizu today finally showed off what the m2 note looks like in the flesh. There’s a lot on the phone that resembles the first gen note from the company — the m1 note — but then there’s perhaps just enough to differentiate between the two.
To start off, the Meizu m2 note has a 5.5-inch full HD 1920 x 1080p display. It is an IGZO panel that comes from the Sharp facilities, which should be up to par with other phones, perhaps even more expensive ones. The grunt of the m2 note comes from the 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 1.3GHz processor that is has on board along with 2GB RAM and 16/32GB of on-board storage.
Gizchina News of the week
It was easy to predict what the m2 note would have on the imaging side of things. Yeah, you’re right; it is an f/2.2 13 mega-pixel sensor (with dual LED flash) on the rear, and an f/2.0 5 mega-pixel front snapper.
Android 5.0, overlaid with Meizu’s ’64-bit Flyme OS’ will take charge of software on the phone, with a 3100mAh battery looking after power supply. The dual SIM phone will offer 4G LTE connectivity (FDD- and TD-LTE), along with an expansion slot (microSD), so it is assumed that you either use the phone in dual SIM mode or in single SIM + microSD. The m2 note will be 8.7mm thick, 0.2mm down from the m1 note’s 8.9mm.
As mentioned, the m2 note will be available (starting tonight) in 16GB and 32GB variants, which will set you back by 799 (US$130) Yuan and 999 Yuan (US$160) respectively. The phone will be available via JD.com and the official Meizu store in China.
Looks great! SD card, lollipo, gray color.
I hope it uses the same camera sensor as the m1 note, it will support Band 20 LTE and the real price will right (below 200 USD).
In that case, this will be my next phone. (except in the time Xiaomi release a perfect redmi note 2)
edit: the camera sensor is the same as on m1.

Think twice mate… Try to use your phone for one day without pressing back and menu buttons. That is flyme OS, wellcome
Built in apps has “soft keys” and the bottom part of the phone has gesture support, so you can hide the “soft keys” for these apps and use the back button and app switching functionality as it would on the screen like phones with soft keys, but it doesn’t takes up space from screen.
I hope so, but hope they doesn’t change the sensor to some shitty 13 MP one too.
It’s probably the same 13mp Samsung sensor that was in the last one, that was surprisingly good.

When?

Today onward. 😉
Then I should’ve waited a while more, I just bought a flash sale Umi eMax a while ago.
will this one work in india
The eMax looks like its going to be a great phone.
With every other phone getting 3000-4000mAh, it seemed one of the main selling point of the phone is becoming just a standard.
Two other phones that offer the same level of specs as the emax and can be bought for around $170 are the P7000 and Jiayu S3. The P7000 has a 3450mAh and the S3 has 3000mAh. The battery in the emax is still bigger than both of those.
But the battery isn’t the only selling point of the Umi. It also features the excellent MT6752. And it’s a lot easier to buy at the discounted price than the two I previously mentioned. For $160 it is a great midrange option plus it will support Rootjoy giving you endless options for ROM’s.
Have you received it yet? So far I haven’t had any luck trying to grab one on flashsale, what site did you use?
Shipping is on June 5, probably +10-12 days hopefully without Customs problems (lol PH). I used Banggood, busiest site for the flash sale is probably to2c, pandawill’s the most expensive (99.99+18 shipping), antelife seems ok but only has silver (wait for the deal on their Deals page around 5:00-5:30PM Beijing time), geekbuying’s kinda fast but seems possible to get one. Banggood’s sale seemed slower than the others and probably easier to grab.
I put it on the shopping cart and F5 until the supposed time, then press paypal once the shopping cart goes 109.99. I only recently bought one because I was thinking maybe something’s gonna pop up which would offer a better deal for $110 or less. Or if maybe the Alcatel Flash Plus is a better deal (720p compared to 1080p but has IMX214 compared to interpolated 8mp)
