“A flagship every year is passé. Think every month.” is what seems to be Elephone’s mantra for this year. The P6000 was a reasonable success, the P7000 only started shipping (most colour variants are still not available), but the company seems to have sent details and pricing info of the next-in-line flagship, aka the P8000 to resellers already.
Which is perhaps why resellers are not only listing the phone, but also taking orders. China based reseller CooliCool, for example, is accepting pre-orders of the Elephone P8000 already, for US$209.99. Almost everything about the phone has either been leaked or officially announced, so it is only a matter of time that the phone starts shipping. But pre-orders already? Have to admit, we did not see this coming.
Gizchina News of the week
According to what we know about the P8000 yet, it’ll have a 4200mAh battery, a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p display, a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 processor (same as the Meizu m2 note) along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. The phone will feature a 7.2mm thick chassis and have a 13 mega-pixel / 5 mega-pixel front and rear camera combo. Despite the thin body, the phone is said to have a 4165mAh battery. Pretty impressive if that does happen.
According to the listing on CooliCool, the phone will start shipping towards the end of next month, so there’s a bit of waiting that you have to do.
Bit of a piss take given how many folk are still waiting for the P7000.
why they clock the MT6753 to 1.3 but the MT6752 to 1.7 ?
does it have heating problem ?
if the heating is because of the LTE, then they should use a separate LTE chip.
Which of those processors are better, that’s what I want to know? Sure the P8000 has bigger battery but if the processor is worst then I rather wait for the wovey.
The MT6753 is (for as far as I understand it) a clocked down version of the MT6752 with world LTE mode added.
They added more LTE bands, but couldn’t resist to down-clock the CPU. The GPU is weaker too. Thanks Mediatek 🙁
