Big battery UMi eMax on sale from Friday for just $159.99

umi emax

UMi will have stock of their UMi eMax in online reseller stores from Friday from just $159.99, just $30 more than the Meizu m2 note and with higher specs to boot!

The Meizu m2 note launched today, that was the big yesterday, but I cannot help but feel underwhelmed when the at $130 (Chinese price) it has way lower specifications than the latest UMi which costs $160 (International price).

While the M2 note is only currently offered to Chinese fans of the phone, by the time international resellers get their hands on it we will be looking at prices of nearer $180 with shipping, perhaps even more. Not a bad price in reality, but with just single SIM support, a downgraded CPU and low Antutu scores there is more on offer at a better price already.

From Friday, international resellers will be selling the UMi eMax for just $159.99. While the phone doesn’t have a physical home button (woop) it does come with a stock Android install, larger 3700mAh battery and more powerful MT6752 chipset. It also offers space for dual LTE SIM cards and micro SD too.

Other eMax features are a 5.5-inch FHD display, 2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel main camera and a body that measures just 7.9mm thick. We’re hoping to have a review eMax in the next few weeks so watch out for our hands on.

When can we expect a review Andi?

and what about those who pre-ordered the phone for $170? Seems like a slap in the face for them.

Some resellers will allow you to cancel a preorder if the phone hasn’t shipped yet.

Any good reason to pick this instead of Lenovo K3 note?

      Umi has 4g 800mhz . But the camera is an 8mpix interpolated , so a fake 13mpixels

Where did you see that it was interpolated?

For $159 it’s a good mid range option. I love the looks of it and it will be compatible with Rootjoy which is a really great program by Umi.

      RootJoy is great.
I would by it if it would have a proper camera.
I saw the pictures taken with this phone and doesn’t looks as nice as I thought from the spec.

These are the pictures I saw too.
I think Meizu m1 note better in taking picture and since the m2 note has the same camera, I rather go for a weaker SOC than a weaker camera for the same money.
So my bet is for the m2 now, but to be sure, I wait for some reviews before purchase one.

It might be a better camera, it could be better software but it’s best to wait for more reviews and actual user hands on (forums such as XDA) before we can really decide.

Personally I was very surprised by how well the M1’s camera is. When it was first announced everyone said Samsung camera’s were crap. But the samples I have seen from the M1 can compete with the best from Sony and OV.

Made my heart sink, it also had a link to gizchina, so I had to confirm if it’s real.

Hi Andi, Any chance of review. Seems Specs too good to be true. Found out via Hotukdeals this phone nolonger supports 800 LTE & UMI have revised their page. Someone also reported no 4G on EE or any of the common networks in UK!
