UMi confirm the amount of RAM and the launch date of the UMi Iron smartphone coming this month.
UMi might have only just released the UMi eMax, but they aren’t taking a breather and already have the UMi Iron in the works and ready to roll. Today’s new teaser posted on the official UMi Facebook page confirms the Iron will boast 3GB RAM and will be officially unveiled on June 23rd on Facebook.
In an earlier leak UMi confirmed that the Iron would run Android 5.1 on a unanounced octacore chipset from Mediatek.
Gizchina News of the week
Knowing that UMi have boosted the RAM in the UMi Iron and are shipping the phone with the latest available version of Android tells us that the phone will sit at the top of the current UMi smartphone range. We have already heard rumours of a 2K display (like the next gen iOcean) and we expect to see around 32GB internal memory and room for a 128GB SD card on the phone.
We have also heard from our sources that the UMi Iron will feature a new mystery input technology that, so far, hasn’t been seen on rival devices. What ever that might be we are sure to learn more in the run up to the launch.

If it does have a 2k display them it must pack the helio x10 as no other MT chip well run it, hopefully a 6″ screen as 2k is pointless in anything smaller, shouldn’t have much longer to wait.
that unannounced chip must the helio P10, its got similar cpu performance as the x10, but far better gpu, and is cheaper
The P10 isn’t supposed to be available till end of this year, I am pretty sure it hasn’t even started production yet.
You beat me to it, the P10 if we’re lucky should be available I reckon in the run up to xmas, followed a month or 2 later by the X20. Lots to look forward to but it makes it difficult to know what to buy now!
I would say Xmas we might see a few devices from someone like HTC or Meizu with the P20, the masses (companies like Umi, Elephone etc) probably won’t debut devices with it till February/March. But thats a not a bad thing, the current SoC’s from MTK are some of the best by any brand and the potential of them and their 64 bit tech is still being explored.
