Doogee haven’t been around for too long, but 2014 was quite a successful year for the company. Besides making some worthy original phones, Doogee also did an Mi 4 clone which seems to have gone down well with the market.
The company seems to have realized the potential the entry-level to mid-range market holds, and has thus introduced the Doogee Y100 Pro smartphone. The device combines great looks and an effective MT6735 processor, which we’re starting to see on many new phones priced in the US$100-150 range.
The Doogee Y100 Pro combines the 64-bit quad-core MT6735 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. There’s a 13 mega-pixel camera on the rear on the device, which is paired with an 8 mega-pixel front. Most budget Chinese phones do dual SIM, and the Y100 Pro is nothing different.
Gizchina News of the week
The Y100 Pro should go against the Oukitel U8, which is quite a trending device for now… but this one’s cheaper (and also lacks a fingerprint sensor). So as you would imagine, the Y100 Pro is meant for buyers that are looking for stylish devices that do what they’re meant to do and not a lot more.
The phone is currently on pre-sale for US$120 on Everbuying.net, till the 5th of next month. Buyers will also get a free Xiaomi mini WiFi router with the purchase of this phone.
With Android 5.1 shipping on most MT6735 phones, do you think it is time that other MediaTek chipsets also get the latest Android updates?
lol forgetting to mention screen size and res seems to be contagious here , usually other writers do that.
Since other readers must be wondering about that too, it seems to be 5 inch 720p. Guess it competes with things like the Elephone P6000 not so much with the Oukitel U8.
Given the render it looks to be about a 5 incher and i would be shocked if it’s anything above 720p.
