Price cut makes 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 super affordable in India

A couple or so days back, we reported about the price cut that the 64GB Mi 4 got in India. It turns out that the base model of the phone — 16GB storage — will also be following suit.

Xiaomi are currently celebrating the Mi 4 reaching the 10 million mark worldwide. At the event in New Delhi, the company also announced the price cut for the Mi 4, which makes it quite a lucrative deal at 14,999 INR or US$230. The Mi 4 might not be the most powerful phone around, but for US$230 / 14,999 INR, the phone is quite a deal one would assume.

The Mi 4 has a 5-inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16/64GB of on-board storage, a 13 mega-pixel main camera and an 8 mega-pixel front camera with a 3080mAh battery. The phone can be bought for the new price via Flipkart and Mi India’s online store, effective immediately.

Xiaomi seem to be on an inventory-clearing drive before they announce the next Mi series flagship, i.e., the Mi 5.

The only downside it’s the 16GB non expandable storage.
I’m about to buy one for a brother.

  While it is none expandable it works great with both OTG and Mi Cloud, which they give you free.

Looks like they’re getting rid of the wcdma 16 gb version for even less in Hong Kong.
I’m saying it because there’s a reliable seller on Aliexpress that sells that phone for 239$.
It’s cost price, so I don’t understand why he’s not making any profit.
He’s probably getting it at a lower price or maybe he’s trying to get rid of an old stock.

  Found it on vickmall.com for $225. I can confirm the seller is reliable; i’ve bought a few phones from them till now.

  There’s a reputable reseller from Hong Kong on Aliexpress that sells it for 239$.

      Right now you can find them at the same price if you buy from resellers.
      For the same price anyone would suggest you to go with the MI4 and so would I.
      I’m a MI4 owner but I would totally get a MI4i because I’m not a power user, I don’t need extra ram or better SoC but I prefer the better camera of MI4i and I like plastic phones more than metal ones.
      But again, for the same price it makes more sense to go with the regular one

        I agree with you for the comparison, honestly I would have gone for the original Mi4 but I am not a power user too. I really don’t care about the extra GB ram and the cpu clocked at 2.5ghz. Shame that Mi4i is sold at the same price of the Mi4. Gearbest has it for $253 without shipping. Wish Ibuygou will lower their price to $250.
