Oukitel made headlines today with their stylish glass on glass alloy U9, and now prove they can do rugged too with a phone with claimed 10,000mAh battery!
We’re seeing Android phones with larger and larger batteries all the time. It is now quite common for phones to have 3000mAh batteries on board, and we have seen phones with 4000+ and even 6000mAh battery packs, but this is the first 10,000mAh!
The photos here simple show a mock-up of a future smartphone from Oukitel, and what we can make out from the device it will be one of the rugged phone variety with large touch screen. The hefty looking phone is said to have a 10,000mAh built-in battery and run Android 5.1. With such a large battery USB OTG will certainly be included for powering other devices.
No work on other specification details or battery run time, but could we be nearing a 5-7day battery life with some a huge cell on board?
My wet dreams coming true
Hi sensei,
did you consider the doogee s6000
I will consider any 6000mha+ phone as long as they support fast charging.
I honestly didn’t investigate much about the Doogee because I heard bad opinions about the brand.
Not that phone in particular, I meant Doogee in general.
I really don’t want to deal with buggy software and do a backup and flash new rom every month.
I’ll keep an eye on it, as I’m keeping one on other phones with big batteries.
Do you recommend this one?
wise… as expected sensei
LOL
I’m pretty impressed with the 6000mAh Gionee M5 but the price of 2299yuan puts me off.
Right, i forgot to mention my budget. ~300$
I’m considering any phone with 5000+ mha batteries.
(As long as it supports fast charging)
I didn’t pay attention to the Doogee because I’ve heard too many complains about this company.
I really don’t want to deal with buggy software or do a backup and flash a new rom every month.
But I’ll keep an eye on this one.
Do you recommend it?
4k screens then ?
If they make it compact enough also, and with 5.5″ screen or more, it will be a great device.
It is hard to make a compact phone with 3,000+ mAh, how do you expect THAT to be compact ?
I mean, maximally compact for such characteristics.
Yea this thing is easily going to be 11-12mm and that might be even pushing it.
Hi mate, I would like to order the MI4i ($248 without shipping) from gearbest.com. Is gearbest a good reseller? I think the price is fair. What do you think? I would have gone for the MI4 wcdma which is sold at a very competitive price but I am not a power user and do not care about the extra gb ram. Moreover, MI4i has a better screen, dual sim and with updates its battery will hold better in terms of usage.
Honestly if the prices are similar I would get the Mi4 even if you are not a power user it i just an overall better phone IMO. You may not care about the extra gb of RAM now but you will want it later. MIUI is an excellent system but it can be very taxing on RAM, it’s never a bad idea to have extra with MIUI. Gearbest is a reliable seller.
Thank you, actually I am not a fan of the white version of the original Mi4. Plus the price drop is significant on the white version, best prices I have seen are on aliexpress and a few resellers. There is also the risk to buy fake phones.
Choices are the MI4i ($248) or MI4 Black Edition (wcdma+3gb ram @ $285) or the MI3 64GB rom @ $230 (might be too big for me).
What should I do?
Ibuygou have good prices: http://www.ibuygou.com/categories/xiaomi-smartphone-price-drop-1.html
I have owned both the Mi3 and Mi4 and they are both excellent phones. I prefer the styling of the Mi4 personally but apart from that the differences between them are minor. The Mi3 is still a very powerful phone, has a good camera and a good battery. Go to the Youtube page of C4eTech, he has a side by side of Mi3 vs Mi4 plus a review of the Mi4i. Normally I would just post the links but my computer is acting weird right now.
Thanks mate, you are right I like better the design of the Mi4 and Mi4i. Ibuygou is selling right now the white wcdma version of the original Mi4 at $249. I am lost I don’t know what to do. Thanks for the links, I will check the C4eTech links once at home to make my choice.
nope not anymore, amprius my friend, amprius
…and 4GB RAM 128GB ROM ๐
To fit a battery that size this thing is going to be thicker than a dictionary.
You can tell people it’s your pocket Bible
thank god…now we can use phones as back up batteries when our cars run out of batteries….
Hehehe. It had better come with some seriously rapid fast blazingly quick sporadic charging else is just a failed idea. The P7000 takes 4-5 hours and that’s just 3300mah. My Old Neo N003 took close to 5 hours from zero to full. I wonder how long a 10000mah phone will take.
Chinese manufacturers seem to be answering the call for bigger batteries instead of thinner phones. Let’s see when the rest catch up.
Yup, unlikely the “big” brands. I also read that ZTE is working on a new battery technology, bring it on guys! ๐
