One thing we can say about IUNI is that they don’t like to stick to a specific design evident again in the new IUNI U1 smartphone.
In the 2 years since IUNI have been releasing phones we have seen the brand drastically change the appearance of their phones 3 times now. Usually a phone maker will keep design elements of their phones similar for brand recognition but not IUNI.
The U2 was a small full alloy unibody phone, The U3 a larger plastic body with all new shame (the U3 mini followed a similar look) and now the IUNI U1 has an all together different design.
Of the 3 design styles this latest one is my least favourite and looks a little like Chinese phones of yesteryear, but if you fancy a budget IUNI device it could be a good place to start.
Specifications include a 1.3Ghz (Mediatek?) processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 8 mega-pixel front and rear cameras and IUNI OS based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Designwise the front of the phone a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display while the rear of the 142 x 69.6 x 8.4mm phone is a little odd and we cannot tell if this is a dual camera design or if IUNI have just designed it to look that way with one of the ‘cameras’ being the actual LED flash.
Surprisingly the rather thick phone has a battery size of just 2000mAh. Fine for these specs (we hope) but surely a larger battery would have been possible in such a roomy device?
