If these new rumours are turn then the Meizu MX5 could very well be worth the upgrade over the Meizu MX4 it will replace.
The Meizu MX4 turned over a new leaf for Meizu. It was the first all alloy chassis phone from the company, and the first real flagship to come with a Mediatek processor. While we liked the phone there were a few details we would have liked such as space for an SD card and also a full metal chassis as that plastic rear cover really kills the feel of the phone.
Latest Meizu MX5 details actually mentioned both the full metal body along with space for 128GB SD cards, that feature alone would be worth the upgrade in some users mind.
In addition the Meizu MX5 is suspected to get a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3150mAh battery, updates Turbo version of the 2.3Ghz Mediatek MT6795T octacore chipset, 20 mega-pixel main camera and even a fingerprint scanner.
The use of a fingerprint scanner, we assume in the home button, would mean the MX5 will be longer than the current MX4.
Pricing is believed to have remained the same with Chinese fans of the phone expecting to get the new Meizu flagship for just 1799 Yuan. International fans can expect the usual high Meizu costs.
Is it not the same GPU as the one in the MT6795 (PowerVR 6200)? It’s not really bad per say.
But the GPU aint really bad. Yes, its not as powerful as the Adreno 430 but its still good and can handle any game thrown at it.
That would be the prefect candidate for being my wife’s new phone.
I wish there was an easy way to install a custom rom though
Lol, wait a second!
I haven’t said I was going to use my money to buy it! 😉
Well, you know how it works.
Shared checking account and plus she has her personal saving account.
So I don’t know where my money go but I know where hers go.
My wifes money goes into our closet, my money goes into her purse.
There you go, so you know what I’m talking about. Lol
Yup which is why she never gets mad at me when the oh so familiar guy from DHL is dropping off another package from China..
I fear her so I don’t chance it many times like you do.
To get rid of my old phone I had to pretend I fell in the river while out on canoe with my father in law
And your father in law played along? That’s awesome. I bought her a Galaxy S6 which here in Thailand cost close to $800 when it came out, so she knows better than to say anything when I order a new phone every 4 months. Don’t know if you saw my post but I ordered an Ubuntu phone gonna try it out for a month. A friend is a tech blogger in Germany and he got me a used one for $150.
We actually fell in the water for real. He returned me the favour because I kept my mouth shut when he told his wife that they didn’t charge him when he upgraded from Note3 to Note4
Oh, let us know about the Ubuntu phone, I’m interested in it too.
Yea I am gonna try to use nothing but that for 30 days (except for work I have to use android). If I like it I am either gonna try to get the MX4 version or buy a Nexus 4 (one of the few devices with a stable version of Ubuntu) and load Ubuntu onto that.

Well, I have a wife and a daughter so… ’nuff said.
I have a wife and a poodle. You win lol!
5.5” inch display ? Please, NOOO ! There are already MX Pro and M Note series for these phablet lovers.
What are the chances it is dual sim? If it is, I would be first on the ordering list 🙂
the new meizu note is dual sim or one sim and an SD card. pretty cool they allow you to use the same port for a sim or SD card.
