Axon aren’t a brand we expect you to be familiar with but be sure that you will see the name more often as the phone maker plans to bring its phone to the U.S.

There is a little mystery surrounding the Axon brand. People who have studied the company website have discovered a link to Chinese phone maker ZTE, however ZTE have refused to comment about the brand and their association.

The Axon phone also appears to be a whole new model that we haven’t seen from ZTE yet (i.e not just a rebranded Nubia), and is marked on the back as being designed in the USA.

What we do know is that the Axon features a dual camera design and can record 4K video. It also boasts Hifi audio and comes in a metallic body with signature grill in a choice of blue, gold and silver.

While the rest of the hardware remains a mystery, Axon have set up a competition on their site which would allow people to either win a new Axon phone or $10,000. You can sign up at the link below.

In the contest rules on Axon website they value the phone at $550. Definitely not a wallet-friendly price.
