The budget priced JiaYu F2 is set to get a significant upgrade from 32bit MT6582 chipset to 64bit MT6735 processor.
When JiaYu released the JiaYu F2 earlier in the year we praised JiaYu for their sensible hardware specifications. Not everyone agreed though and the company were criticised for using last years MT6582 processor instead of a more modern 64bit option.
Still the phone did represent good value boasting 2GB RAM , 16GB memory, LTE modem, 3000mAh battery, Gorilla Glass display and 8 mega-pixel main camera.
Now with the recent release of the quad-core Mediatek MT6735 chipset JiaYu have made the decision to upgrade their low-cost phone to the 64bit chip while at the same time creating an Android 5.1 Lollipop ROM for the new version of the phone.
Pricing for the new version of the JiaYu F2 will be between 499-599 Yuan. We are waiting for JiaYu to unveil the final cost details and release date.
80 usd will be great price…
This guy.
what?
JiaYu F2 build quality and design IMHO could be a great contender even in upper mid-level arena with 6752/53 SoC
Hmm… interesting device for that price. o.O
They have nailed it with this upgrade!
Not bad at all, though i was hopping from Jiayu to hear some news about S4.
I will consider this if the price will be around $120 from resellers.
yeah well good for them… but i heard the cam was abysmal ?!
Gotta love english, when you’re not sure if someone means that something is great or shit.
i presume english is your first language ?
well … abysmal = VERY VERY VERY disappointing
64 bit is overrated right now, it’s nothing more than a marketing feature. On paper it offers tremendous benefits, in real world applications so far the benefits have been minor at best. In fact some popular apps even have problems working on 64 bit phones. This is one of those features that is 1-2 years from being game changing.
Let me guess.
No 2G 850 / 1900 and no 3G 850.
Go buy a BLU or NUU phone …. They’re for USA ….
That’s double the bits! Not that anyone is going to notice the difference in real world usage. But whatever, specs sell Android phones and 64 is a higher number than 32.
If they had released this phone with the mtk6732 instead of waiting and then making this upgrade it would have sold better, but the F2 can now compete with other budget 64 bit phones.
Still no news of the mythical killer S4 how disappointing, and still no official Lollipop upgrade for the Jiayu S3 (3GB version) although there is a Release Candidate version of Lollipop 5.1 on needarom so hopefully it should not be long before you can upgrade your S3 to Android 5.1.
Please someone review this low cost beast here in Gizchina! <3
