Android 5.1 for the Huawei Honor 6 is not a stock install and is based on EMUI 3.1. This is a highly customised OS with some very neat features, and clean design:

I’m quite surprised to see that this phone still can standout against many similar sized and equipped competitors, as it has been on the market for almost a year now. It looks like this beta test is a way for Huawei to confirm the potential of this phone.
If they dont know the phones potential by now they will never know it. The Honor 6 sold very well for Huawei it was their answer to the Mi4 and One Plus One. Which is why the Honor 7 being so expensive makes no sense. The Honor brand is supposed to be the “cheaper” brand with good specs for them. This Beta is their way to figure out what works and what doesn’t work in 5.1, a lot of companies rushed it out to say “we have 5.0” and it was a disaster with battery draining issues (that still persist), memory problems and performance issues.
