The US market doesn’t really get a lot of love from Chinese makers such as Xiaomi, but that doesn’t stop other companies which are a little more international, so as to say, to make it big in the country.
There were reports about a ‘mystery’ phone that would launch in the country next month. Dubbed ‘Axon’, the phone is supposed to be pretty high-end, with everything from performance to audio output maxxed out. For that, the phone is supposed to have 4GB of RAM and apparently an audio chip that would produce amazing audio.
That is quite a vague way to describe a phone, but that is what it is. The phone will have have dual rear cameras with support for 4K; the makers clearly want to leave no stone unturned.
The phone is ‘designed in the USA’, as the back of the device will read, with manufacture done in China. It wasn’t until today that it came to fore that Axon Phone is actually a ZTE-backed venture. In fact, the company is also giving away a phone along with a US$10,000 check, which can be yours.
Design wise, the phone looks like the love child of the OnePlus One and perhaps an older-gen HTC phone. But all this makes you wonder: what is it with Chinese companies and sub-brands?
$10,000 sounds good.
