Confirmed: OnePlus 2 will have a fingerprint scanner

oneplus 2 fingerprint scanner

The slow reveal running up to the OnePlus 2 launch next month marches on today with the revelation of an included fingerprint scanner.

For anyone who has been following OnePlus this year, the announcement of a fingerprint scanner should come as no surprise as it was hinted as much in Q&A with the OP team months ago. The fingerprint scanner on the OP2 sounds like it will use the same tech as the Huawei Mate 7 i.e a scanner (on the rear?) that only needs a single tap to both wake and unlock the phone. Other devices need the phone to be first woken then unlocked (MX4 Pro, Oppo N3, Elephone P7000 etc). Up to 5 fingerprints can be stored on the OnePlus 2 meaning you and a trusted user can also get access to your phone.

OnePlus also revealed the OP2 will have USB Type C and a 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 810 CPU. We expect a 16 mega-pixel+ main camera and 2K display on the newest flagship.

Wait for people to start complaining about the ‘don’t need a 2k display, 1080p is fine on a phone’ etc.

So far so good. I did quite a lot of research before buying so there where no surprises really. The Amigo UI is not that bad as I thought, there are a few apps that I would like to delete but it works flawlessly without any lag or bug. The camera is really good, I’m just shooting pictures without any effort or trying hard and they become absolutely amazing.
There is no kitkat update for mine either.
