Elephone sure didn’t execute the P7000 launch very well, but they seem keen on making it up to the buyers with their next phone.
Nonetheless, there’s always something that keeps the Elephone brand floating in the news, regardless of the reason being good or bad. As you might very well know by now, the upcoming Elephone flagship is the P8000 which is due for a launch very soon. In fact, most online resellers have already started accepting pre-orders for the device.
The P8000 will have the new MediaTek MT6753 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. Besides that, there’ll be a 5.5-inch screen on the device with a 1920 x 1080p resolution; a 13 mega-pixel rear and a 5 mega-pixel front camera will make for the imaging department along with a massive 4165mAh battery.
Gizchina News of the week
The phone will run Android v5.1 Lollipop out of the box, which does sound impressive. A new video of the device posted by an online reseller was recently found on YouTube, take a look.
While the design may look impressive, does the device look worthy of the price tag? Let us know in the comments section below.

Don’t judge an Elephone by its cover!
Judge it by the horrible black border on the display.
Oh trust me, I do 😉
Damn inside bezels are massive, you can see them from correct angle.
You shuldn’t by this shity CRAP Company ELEPHONE! They sell phones that doesn’t exist! I’ve won an “impressive” code to be the first “PIONNER” 11 of May and I’m still waiting my f** Phone to be produced! A lot of people is waiting it’s P7000 and they have the balls to start “selling” P8000! Shity brand. Get a Jiayu or a Xiaomi
XD
Rear pannel is so ugly, that I prefered Be Touch 2 at last.
I find their designs quite odd actually, for example, the P7000 had a rather rectangular look about it, pretty much 90° corners, yet it had a circular modern looking finger print scanner. The P8000 on the other hand is a much sleeker look with its rounded off corners but then it has a bit of a retro back in the day looking square finger print scanner… Odd contrast I think..?
Either way they’re both fu#king ugly because they have a rediculous ugly as sh!t black border situation around the screen!
Elephone, you really, really need to sort that screen border stuff out!!!
Just my opinion 😀
you can keep their black background to hide it 😉
Lets see, I look at the top image here and I see very sexy bezelless design. Wow that looks awesome lets check that video out!
Wait for it….
Wait for it….
There it is… wait what? Wtf is that weird black border I see?
##$%!!………
Personally, I think Elephone have lost the plot! I had a lot of hope for them as I quite like there designs, spec and pricing plus they are one of only two Chinese phone makers
that have ever replied to my email (the other being Oukitel) however last week I cancelled my two P7000 orders.
Apple introduced the iPhone 8 years ago. Today we are up to iPhone 6. I know there are size variants but that is less than one new model each year.
Apple have unlimited financial resources for R&D, marketing, distribution and lets not forget after sales support. With this in mind why on earth do Elephone think it is
a smart idea to release so many models so quickly? Do they really think they can perfect and support each model?
I waited with interest for many months for the P7000 to be released and then waited again after the launch for the grey colour to come into stock. In the end I cancelled my orders.
I have heard rumours that P7000 production has already stopped and customers are being urged to purchase the P8000!
Flash sales are also a joke. They are misleading, confusing and ultimately frustrate customers to the point they no longer want the product. In the end I decided my time was worth more than the discount. How about a simple promotion that is available to everyone such as a presale price that is reduced and each week the price increases until it reaches full retail price?
I am not impressed by a phone maker that can release the most models each year… I am interested in a phone maker that releases products that are free from software bugs and hardware defects.
Anyway, I now watch with interest for the release of the Ulefone Be Touch 2.
It’s their strategy. Adding to that, they are chinese, quite normal to be fooled by them. They “hook” us in an excited state, then when support is needed, they leave. Something a mature company, say like Asus or Apple itself, wouldn’t do. These small companies damage the market quite a bit. Because they don’t have much to lose, they take riskier strategies. Were have our share of guilty, we are suckers for cheap and good looks.
Never again Elephone! Bought a new P8000, right out of the box didn’t recognize sim, after a simple OTA update it bricked, all by itself! I should have smashed it in UMI’s contest to win an Iron Pro instead of dealing with their non exhistant after sale service… wasted money, a shame!
