Chinese certification authority TENAA posts hands-on video of unreleased device

TENAA, also known to some as the FCC of the East, is usually a prolific source for leaks and such. This is because to-be-released phones have to go through the certifications process if they’re to sell in China, and the information invariably gets into the hands of the media and enthusiasts.

It is usually diagrams and photos that we get our hands on from TENAA. This time though, the certification authority has gone an extra mile and has posted a full-blown hands on video of an unreleased device. The unreleased phone that we’re talking about is the Samsung Galaxy A8 which has been in the news for a while now.

This is probably the first time that TENAA posted a video of this sort, and the body is sure to get a lot of flak from Samsung.

Gizchina News of the week

The Galaxy A8, if you care, looks like a phone with a 5.7-inch screen with 1920 x 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. With that, the Galaxy A8 will have a 16 mega-pixel rear camera, and a 5 mega-pixel front facing camera. Take a look at the video right below.

    SD615 isn’t a wise choice for Samsung.

A7 coming out of box in my country with Exynos 5430 instead to SD615. Seems like they are shipping A7s’ to China with SD615.

No suprise they are losing in China.

That A8 has a potential to be a great mid-ranger with a few touch. It’s a shame they are ruining it with SD615.

Completely agree, it’s a very strange choice of SoC they would’ve been better going with the MT6752 than this.

It’s a shame these phones cost too much.
