Later today Meizu are expected to launch the Meizu MX5 and possibly the Meizu m2, but not this powerbank which Le Nan informed fans won’t be released today.
Meizu are the older smartphone maker compared to many of todays Chinese brands, and you would think that would have given them a head start on the market but unfortunately it hasn’t.
When Xiaomi, Huawei and others started to build more and more value devices and quality accessories, Meizu stuck to its guns and plodded along until last year when things started to change.
Meizu now have a range of phones (like Xiaomi), offer a range of health products (like Xiaomi) and are going to launch a couple of power banks too (again like Xiaomi).
Gizchina News of the week
This latest image shows a two-tone design for the battery pack that only supports a single USB but does have a fast charge feature. It’s not sure if this images or the an earlier one shows the final design, but we believe that the batter will come in 5000mAh and 10,000mAh and isn’t likely to launch today.
We wonder if today’s Meizu launch will finally show the Zhuhai phone maker innovate and become a leader again? Or are we just going to see more Apple homage and following of Xiaomi’s lead?
