UMi have revealed today that the UMi Iron will be getting eye recognition software in the form of Eyeverify for a completely different level of security.
Full specifications of the UMi Iron were released last week and reviewers are already receiving their devices (ours today), but there are still new features for the phone to come thanks to planned OTA updates.
One feature that the UMi Iron lacks is a fingerprint scanner, however come 6th July, an OTA for the phone will bring Eyeverify to the phone. Eyeverify will add eye recognition software to the already feature packed UMi Iron. This will mean the front camera of the phone will need to recognise your unique Eye patterns to unlock your phone.
UMi also pointed out that when the UMi Iron arrives with customers they should first check for the current OTA that brings with it a heart rate monitor and notification LED features. It seems like UMi are getting on top of bringing OTA updates to their latest phones and we cannot wait to test the Iron when it arrives later.
What happened to voice unlock?
This doesn’t mean that voice unlock feature will be removed.
I think you can choose that too.
I still curious about how the heart rate monitor will work.
I’m curious if it unlocks through grunts or heavy breathing.
HAAHH !
Wasn’t that just a rumour?
There is a Dutch review where the reviewer tried it and it worked well.

I’ve posted it in the Facebook group too.
Very cool thanks 😀
Andi,
Can I ask you why have you deleted my thread in the Facebook group where I asked for help to contact UMI?
I can’t find it now.

Any good places to buy this with shipping from Europe?
Does it have removable battery? Extra SD Memory card slot, what is the maximum limit?
