Xiaomi’s new i-Youth Smart air conditioner has gone on sale in China for 2699 CNY / 435 US$.
The air conditioner comes in 4 colors, and the smart comes from the fact that it is Bluetooth and WiFi compatible, and can be controlled via other devices via an app. It can also pair with your existing Mi Band fitness tracker.
The appliance comes in two versions, i.e., with a 1HP and a 1.5HP motor. Pricing is believed to be introductory, and will most likely go up in the near future, as Chinese outlets report.
Gizchina News of the week
Xiaomi has been investing in the smart home space for quite a while now. There’s a lot of Xiaomi products on sale in China that aren’t available elsewhere, and this includes power strips, smart sockets, smart scales and now air conditioners.
Would you want to have a Xiaomi AC over your regular brand name AC this summer? Let us know.
When I heard smart, I thought it can make selfies and connect to facebook.

Skin and bones. Too bad the fitness tracker can’t tell that you’re overdoing it.

I dont really consider this as smart if it only the only thing is being able to be controlled by other devices and BT and Wi-Fi capable. Doesnt make much sense to me really.
