Oukitel’s U8 is a mid-range phone (new-age entry-level is what I like to call it) with a fingerprint sensor that doesn’t require you to wake the phone before scanning your finger.
The device is pretty impressive with its metal build and other features, however there were a few issues with the accuracy and speed of the fingerprint sensor… which the company seems to have addressed with a software update.
Here’s what the new update brings to the table:
1. Optimization of the speed and accuracy of fingerprint unlocking.
2. Solve the problem of probability and compatibility caused by fingerprint
3. Noise reduction of the playback of recorded sound
Gizchina News of the week
The update is downloading on our review sample of the Oukitel U8 as I write this. The full review of the phone will come later this week, meanwhile take a look at the screenshot for the update for more information. You might also want to glance over our hands on post for the Oukitel U8.
I have updated mine and the fingerprint scanner as improve very significantly not perfect but working. The scanner is now quicker to unlock the phone but still struggling a bit to unlock apps it takes a bit longer to unlock apps than it takes to unlock the phone.
Haven’t tested with apps yet but yes its MUCH faster now. Accuracy seems to be the same though.
Mine was so unresponsive to the point that I stopped using it completely but now I’m using it. I have tested on my encrypted apps and accuracy is very low and takes much longer.
