Whilemost of theOEMfocuse on the mobile space, a few others seek to expand their offerings, betting on other segments. It is basically in this premise that ZTE unveiled during IFA 2015 the second generation of their Smart Projector, the ZTE Spro 2 and has now launched a new variant of it.
The ZTE Spro 2 was a natural evolution of the first Spro, offering some improvements such asthe possibility to stream differentmedia types from inserted microSD cards or USB sticks. This new variant of the Spro 2 works powered by and connected to the Verizon’s 4G Network. The projector can be acquired directly from the ZTE website for $599, which somehowsoundspainful but worth mentioning is the fact that this device is not meant for everyone.
The Spro 2 runs the Android 4.4 and comes with a 5-inch HD touch panel, 16GB of storage plus microSD expansion. The device can work as a mobile hotspot, being capable to connect with up to 10 devices simultaneously.
While this variant’s main attraction is the possibility to connect with Verizon’s LTE network, it can also be connected to a regular Wi-Fi networks. The device is powered by a 6300mAh battery which provides enough juice to project 3 hours or act as hotspot for approximately 10 hours.
The device might be interesting for those looking for a projector with some extra and neat features, however the price can be considered a bit of a let down for the most enthusiasts of this type of technology. Let us know about your opinion on this!
