Xolo Black launched: Snapdragon 615, 2GB RAM, dual rear cameras

Another mid-range device from Xolo has graced the Indian market in the form of the long-teased Xolo Black.

The Xolo Black comes with the Snapdragon 615 SoC (which has been the go-to chipset for a lot of makers lately) with an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. The highlight though, is the fact that the Black has a dual-rear camera setup, perhaps to make it the only phone in its range to offer the feature.

The rear of the phone has a 13 mega-pixel + a 2 mega-pixel sensor, which according to Xolo allows the Black to focus in a mere 0.15 seconds. Turn the phone over and you have a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p FHD panel on the front, along with a 5 mega-pixel camera for your selfies.

The phone has a thickness of a mere 7.3mm and features support for 4G LTE. The price in India for the Xolo Black will be 12,999 INR (US$205), i.e., as much as the Xiaomi Mi 4i (review).

The Xolo Black will also have a hybrid dual SIM tray, which means you can either use two SIMs at once or just swap the second SIM for a microSD card. Everything on the phone will be powered by a rather impressive sounding 3200mAh battery.

The Xolo Black will be available in India starting 13th July, exclusive via Flipkart.

Seriously would have loved owning an Indian phone. Just that they are super-difficult to purchase outside India.

Will the dual cameras setup allow stereo (3D) pictures? Is a software available for that purpose?

Screen size of 5.5 inches does annoy me, 5.2 inches would have been right for competition with Mi4i

nowadays 5.5 ” screen phones are common

There are still good models with 5.2 inches screen like moto X, Motorola turbo and they are handy to hold the device rather than 5.5 incher, it all depends on the person’s choice.

        • I swear that’s all I fucking want. Give me a 5″-5.3″ phone with flagship specs and I’ll be satisfied. This 5.5 shit is a hassle for one-handed use. (Oneplus One)

The difference between 5.5″ and 5.3″ is just 0.2″ which is approximately 0.508cm more. An 18 year (or more) old male can easily hold a 5.5″ device in one hand and use.

My mistake, but its the same thing with Xolo too. Xolo could probably be worse than micromax.

My friends had the Xolo q700 and that had battery issues where the battery would swell up like a balloon every 4 months. Xolo never accepted this, you can Google it if u want and see hundreds of angry customers reporting this. The service centers too didn’t have stock of replacement batteries and there was a two month waiting period where the customers couldn’t even use their phones while they wait for new stock, Xolo took advantage of this high demand for batteries and sold them at a unreasonable price of 900 inr for each battery which again had to be replaced every 4months.

Trust me, there’s no use of a good spec phone if the manufacturer doesn’t support it for service and software updates.

ahahah ! you got to be kidding me. You must’ve heard of Qmobile in Pakistan. its a subsidiary of Gionee but is TERRIBLE at doing anything correct in a volatile market like Pakistan’s.

so far they’re release phones which have PISS POOR specs and OUTRAGEOUS prices ! shit phones at a premium cost….

so in short … not only is their after-sales support bad but the phones are TERRIBLE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD.

trust me , you guys are so soooo lucky to have so many brands at ABSOLUTELY KILLER prices offering you the best gadgets for literally bargains all round !

7mm with 3200mah battery? This could be the one guys. My biggest issue with the Lenovo k3 note is the huge time it takes to focus on a picture, and the lack of custom roms due to using a mediatek.

Smart move from Xolo against Xiaomi and Yu with decent specifications & pocket friendly price point. Hope they wont stick with the so called “Flash sale” model or atleast have enough phones to satisfy the online demand with frequent flash sales for the hype running.
