New Elephone measures the same as the iPhone 6 with larger AMOLED display

leaked elephone

Elephone might currently be known for the terrible looking bezels of the P7000 and P8000, but they intend to change that with another (yes another) device.

Leaked photos of a mystery Elephone device, shows a phone with the same physical size as the iPhone 6 butΒ narrower bezels. Images sent to us actually show the front panel of the new phone over an iPhone 6 for comparison and sources tell us that there will be a larger screen to body ratio i.e slimmer bezels.

In addition to the large screen we have also learned that this mystery Elephone phone will have an AMOLED panel, a screen technology known for vivid colours, and the new standard USB Type C. Type C USB is also found on the LeTV phones and will be a feature of the OP2.

So far other details remain secret but we expect a Mediatek processor, up to 3GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel main camera (perhaps from Samsung).

What do you make of this latest Elephone leak?

“Elephone phone will have an AMOLED panel, a screen technology known for vivid colours”
And fake fraudulent resolution that in a sane world would land people in jail.

not all AMOLED panels have the “fake” and “fraudulent” resolutions you claim, sure PenTile subpixel based AMOLED screens have a lower effective resolution, but there are AMOLED sreens that utilise the full RGB stripe, the problem is that that is incredibly inefficient for AMOLED screens.

plus at these densities, dont try to pretend you can see the pixel different between a QuadHD AMOLED and a QuadHD LCD.

Every AMOLED I have ever used has looked excellent….

Main advantage of AMOLED display is that they consume less power. Moreover this could be a pentile display. Advantage of pentile display is that it could create a screen that is just as bright as normal screens with one third the amount of sub pixels. The negative of pentile screens is that they can appear grainy, or appear to be lower resolution due to the larger, more visible sub pixels.

They are gonna have those virtual black bezels on that display with thin bezels. I dont trust them one bit even with this photos and news.

Hello black borders around the screen… again and again. This should stop :/ I would never buy Elephone if they continue with this design.

Elehone is doing one thing I like… A big screen phablet. I haven’t bought there other products on the advice of this community. I’ll leave this one as a question mark till further specs or released.

where’s that a big screen phablet??? the iphone 6 is 5 inches. that’s nowhere near a phablet. also i think they’re lying as always. just look at all the bezel-less (black and turned off) phones from elephone so far. just cause they put narrow bezels to the front doesn’t mean that the screen is the same size as the cutout. it will most certainly be the same screen size, just with huge friggin black borders between the screen and the “real” bezels. just look at the p7000, p8000 or p9000. XD

also if it’s an elephone leak they don’t seem to trust their own hardware as the photos were made with a meizu m1 or m2 note. πŸ˜€

The “iPhone 6” is 5 inches. The “iPhone 6 Plus” is 5.5 inches. Still not really a phablet to me, but widely known as one.

Right. I did confuse the iPhone 6 with the 6 plus. Yes I did think it was 6″. Thanks again. I’ll stick with my Alps W 9206 for now. It is a year old, was cheap and is slow, but still works pretty good for my book reading. I tried it to see if I liked big screens. I really do.

            Actually, I6 is 4,7, not 5 inches.

Totally agree…. will never believe them any more…… even when they publish on their web site stating that they have this and that….. but when they release the product may not have and they will just amend their site to remove the spec…. cannot be trusted…
Give up…. Looking elsewhere good luck to your strategy ..Liephone.

Another month another 2015 flagship from Elephone, by Xmas we will be swamped by new elephone’s including the Elephone 20000 with snapdragon 2001, a 32mbit camera (inperpolated from 8mbit) 6000mah battery (that lasts 4 hours) and only 6.5mm thin.
