After some speculation in the recent weeks, Oppo has finally presented to the world their latest installment from the Mirror line, the Oppo Mirror 5. The device comes with a sturdy design that bets on fashion with a very pleasurable look in the back, thanks to a diamond texture.
The Mirror 5 mixes a clean white front with a reflective blue diamond-skinned. While this concept is not something really new, as companies such as Elephone and Bluboo already presented similar offerings in their S2 and XTouch respectively, it still gives a nice and unique look to the Mirror 5.
The Oppo Mirror 5 specs-sheet tells us about a quad-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2Ghz that powers the phone. We can only assume that is the mid-range 64-bit Snapdragon 410. Besides that, the Mirror 5 comes with a 5-inch HD display and brings dual-sim capabilities with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage plus microSD support.
Oppo also claims a very sturdy body construction on the Mirror 5, which is achieved with the combination of glass in the front and rear and the alloy in the borders and chassis. The overall dimensions of the phone are 143.4mm x 71.2mm x 7.65mm and the phone weighs 160g.
In the camera department we have an 8MP f/2.2 main shooter on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone also promises some good features related imaging with the Beautify 3.0 software. The Mirror 5 runs ColorOS 2.1 over Android Lollipop 5.1, with everything powered by a 2450mAh battery.
Observing all the referred specs we can see that the Oppo Mirror 5 is a mid-ranger with a sophisticated design, and can be put in the same road as the known Redmi 2 (specs wise), which now in the Pro version that packs the exact same specs of the Mirror 5.
There’s no details of the pricing or availability yet, but knowing the pricing policy that Oppo use, the Mirror 5 may have a tough road ahead if not priced well. The Mirror 5 will be available in 15 markets including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Mexico, and the Middle East-North Africa region. Give your thoughts about the new Oppo’s handset.

Not something really new? I remember Oppo R1C phone with diamond design, then elephone and blubbo copy from them.
This will be another overpriced and overhyped oppo wonder, not worth the price for its specifications – there are better models around to give competition for it
Oppo Mirror 5 s the same as Elephone S2! It is plagiat!
Killer specs for 2013. Well done, Oppo. You made quite an impression.
Don’t know if that’s only me, but that diamond pattern somehow looks much better on Elephone S2..
Nice back design borrowed from Bluboo Xtouch. And they’re finaly cutting down prices. But with proportionaly inferior hardware, unlike other manufacturers. Which doesn’t make it more appealing to me at all.
