China’s ZTE has finally and officially announced the Axon for the US.

The ZTE Axon is what the company calls its “first phone made in the US, for the US”. The phone’s main attraction is the dual rear camera setup, comprising of 13 mega-pixel plus 2 mega-pixel sensors.

The Axon also has a 5.5-inch screen with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution (2K), and is price US$449.98 in the US. Availability for now will be restricted to the US, and from the tagline that ZTE has given the device, it looks like it’ll stay that way for a while at least.

The high-res screen phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and has 4GB of RAM to go with it. A 3000mAh battery powers the phone, with the overall dimensions of the device being 153.9×73.6×9.3mm and with a weight of 172.9 grams.

32GB of ROM is provided on board so storage shouldn’t really be a problem. The Axon runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

May be better than OP2. It doesn’t have any fingerprint scanner though.

last year OPO was with all his downsides a flagship killer. I’m not sure they are going to deliver it with the OP2.
what do you think about the OP2 so far?

According to Android Authority, the chip is the revised version, but the only way to find out is after people review it !

Given that they implemented it in the Nubia Z9 Max (I have one), without heating issues, I think (hope) it should be OK.
